I have a question - I've never heard of this happening before.
My girlfriend went to add a person (Boyfriend) to her Bank Account, and the Bank denied the request. Why?
I said perhaps the Bank did her a favor.

one of the most common reasons would be that the boyfriend has a bad credit rating

I didn't know that.
I honestly did not know that a bank refused you an account due to your credit rating.
P.S. - she got rid of the boyfriend

That seems fast. One day trusting him with her money. Next day canning him.

-my mom was an asst. manager of a bank for over 20 years, she said that almost all banks now have a security list, ss numbers, names of bad risks, that may be why.

This relationship has went on for @ year - she just now tells me he asked & they discussed putting him on her account.!! That was denied - I was OMG.
I didn't know a bank would reject that request.
So, I told her "ARE YOU CRAZY"!!! and that I think the Bank did you a favor.
Now that the relationship is off - I said will your bank give you the reason for dening this request.?
If she had the reason - her heart wouldn't hurt.
My husband told her he sounds like a good con man.
So - will the bank explain the denial to her?

For many years the People of Peterhead had the opposite problems. One famous manager of a bank argued with you against taking any of your money out.
He even wanted to know exactly what you were going to spend it on.???
Was that a favour also????
God Bless.
Love.

Well things have changes - I do remember having a account (very young) and being asked why I was withdrawing money.

Pasty, I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. I tried to help a boyfriend get an account at my bank, and they wouldn't let him due to outstanding balances owed to another bank, which of course he had excuses out the butt for, it was ALL his ex-wives fault, blah blah blah!! In that case, I believe that the bank did me a favor also....I got rid of his good for nothin' butt also!!:-5
