Hey I'd really appreciate some advice if anyone could give it! I applied for a part time nanny position and I have an interview on Thursday....but I need to know what kind of wage should I ask for?
I'm 22 years old....have 2 years of college with emphasis on Early Childhood Education, and 2 1/2 years experience working in child development centers and preschools, I am Child CPR and First Aid certified and have a few recommendations. I feel confident that I'm qualified for this position...I would be taking care of a 4mos. baby and a 2 yr. old. 4 hours a day, 4 days a week. But I'm still not sure what kind of wage! I'm thinking of $13-15/hr. does that seem too steep? I'd appreciate input! Thanks!

Do you have experience watching kids, especially infants, and do you have good references? If the answer is yes then I'd say your idea in wage seems fair. Depends on the income level of parents. If they can afford this then do ask for more, but if you are helping someone out then no, take less.

Based on experience in the US:
1-4 years: $11.05 hr.
5-9 years: $11.57 hr.
10-19 years: $12.73 hr.
20+ years: $13.54 hr.
That's merely based on average in the US, it might be a bit more in Oregon, however.
If you lived in Washington state, it would start at around $14 hr.
