Do you put extra weight on advice from people older than you?

I suppose it would depend on the subject, but as a whole I don't think so.

nope, it all depends on the person and their experience, not their age. :)

Depends on the subject and the person to be honest.

Sometimes, it just depends on the advice sought and given.

I think if you reverse it, more people would find it true. ie) Do you put less weight on advice from people younger than you.

I tend to rely on a person's emotional maturity more so than their age. Life experience varies for every person, and how long one has lived is not always a direct correlation to that. Sometimes, a 13 year old can give me better advice than a 70 year old.

Same for me, and age isn't always a reflection of that. Now that being said, I do listen very closely to what an older person tells me, they have at least been around longer and seen more than I have regardless of whether or not I have "done" more. I don't take advice though, never have. I'm too hard headed and stubborn. I don't even take my own advice.

Older folks are just older, but not necessarily wiser.

I tend to consider an older person's tenure but they have to be more elderly...that I respect...but otherwise I go with the others in that experience comes with all ages.
