Moment Of Silence!

i just have to tell you about something that happened at work Tuesday night. I was at work having a good, slow night. Around 10:30p, a cashier comes running to me saying that a customer ran in and told her that an old man was sick outside. I run outside and find that it is one of my dear, beloved, sweet associates. There are 2 customers holding him up, and the lady is yelling, "call 911! he sick!" So, i run back inside, call 911 and page my supervisor to the front. By this time, we have him up front and in a wheelchair. He's incoherent, and barely conscious. We ( my supervisor, 2 helping customers) wait with him, try to keep him calm, and conscious. I call his nearest relative, his wife and explain to her that he's sick and something happened. I then hand the phone over to the paramedics and let them talk to her, because as I'm talking to her, I can hear her voice breaking. The paramedics calm her down and set him up in the ambulance. At that point, it seems as if everything is ok. He's taken to the hospital and for a day or two, we didn't know of his condition. His wife came in Thursday and told us that he had had a severe stroke, a heart attack and that he was in a coma. He stayed in this coma until he died yesterday morning at 5 a.m.. It breaks my heart because he was the kind of man who would see you frown, and make you smile. He was the kind of man who made it a point to speak to you if he knew you. He was the kind of man that would tell you the most amazing stories. He was a genuine hard working man who loved life and his family. His wife and daughter are sick. I'm not sure of what, but I do know that he used to take care of them and work solely for them. They now have no one. We are in the process of taking up money for them, and hopefully, it will help out. I ask that when you finish reading this to please take a moment of silence for this man, and please pray for his family. God Bless You! WE LOVE YOU ALONZO!!!

Shibee i am sorry for the loss of your colleague he sounds like he was a nice guy, it must have been very upsetting for you all.

Its a shame that he left behind a family that relied on him, i do hope they'll be ok.
