Question For The Ladies

Post by Lon »

Male models, sports figures and males in general don't seem to shave anymore. I am not talking about beards and moustaches, but two and three day growth of stubble. Do women find this appealing? In my younger days of dating & when dating after the death of my first wife women seemed to prefer men to be clean shaven, particularly during romantic interludes. Pro atheletes would always be clean shaven during a game. Now, they look like unmade beds. So what gives?

I agree nothing better than a clean shaven man... HUBBA HUBBA..!!

I think the trend today is a 3 day beard. My take they are lazy.. But some guys do it because they have such a baby face, and want to look tougher.. :-3

As a former makeup artist who had to decide whether characters should have facial hair, scruff or be shaven, I have the following opinion:

If a man has a baby face: scruff

If a man has bad skin: scruff

If a man has a bad facial feature ie) weak chin: beard or moustache as is needed

Outside of these, it is one of the few fashion statements that can change with the seasons. After sensitive men are in for a while, gruffness and "manliness" comes round via scruff, then the sensitive man reemerges and so on.

Sideburns...its a free for all. Do whatever tickles you.

My preference goes toward clean shaven also. Like others, the three day stubble irritates my skin.

My man has a goatee, it always looks like a couple of days growth, and everywhere else is shaven. I like it like that.

When I was younger, used to get stubble rash though, I'm not sure if the kissing is different or I just don't get it anymore.

In general, I prefer my men clean shaven... but there is something to be said for a little stubble once in a while. ;)

Hey, thanks! Actually been thinking about you, this weekend is GGKC Dog

Show!! Been years since I've been, always enjoyed it but pretty expensive.

Wondered if you only do east coast shows... and are all your cockers

ASCOB's?

Hey, in order to not TOTALLY steal the thread, I must say that I think a lot

of my reaction to the "scruff" comes from having a daddy who would always

get same on his fall "vacations" with his buddies. Came back after ten days

in the mountains and not shaving and while I would be very glad to see him,

he always wanted to "whisker" me! Sadistic daddy.

(Special thanks to the good friend who thoughtfully provided me with that

:yh_giggle Yes the fartherest West I've been was Champaign, Il last year. It is expensive and the travel is becoming expensive too. I have all three varieties of cockers but mainly ASCOB because they are the most stable in temperament and have the sweetest expression to me.

Back to the thread, my Grandfather did the same whiskering thing to me! That is why I associated pain with scruff

My hubby has a full beard, and I think it is extremely sexy... One other note, one reason he has this beard is the type of work he does. He works construction and the beard keeps his face warm and protected in the winter, and works to help keep it cooler (sweat cooled by wind) in the summer. He keeps it trimmed and neat. He is very handsome underneath the beard...so I can have him either way, but the beard is there for a reason and I have no problem with it.

My man has a goatee, and sometimes grows his jawline out to give him a thin beard. I find him SUPER sexy both ways. In fact I've never seen him without facial hair, and probably never will. He says he looks about 12 without it. To go a step further, he has grey shot through his beard which I also find very attractive. He wanted to color it and I was against it right away. I love his grey. Makes him look very distinguished. :yh_kiss to my hunk.

And down below i like clean..

Do you mean his feet?

My man is well groomed, always has been...Bearded guys and pony tails---no good. I feel men should have manicures and pedicures once in awhile. No hairy men here... :)

My guy (would be mortified knowing I have said this about him) Has his very sexy goatee (no stubble if you let the hair grow a tad, as it is actually soft) Plus he has chest hair as well as other parts, and he keeps it all well manicured :) I like facial hair, always have, always will.

THANKS FOR THE IMPUT LADIES-----------The majorityof you confirm my thinking on this subject. I have a light but very sharp stubble when I don't shave. My wife definetly prefers me clean shaven. As for myself, I feel uncomfortable with a day or two's growth.
