Dinner guest finds host's wife, son in freezer

Fri Jul 6, 9:42 AM ET

A Belgian man appeared in court on Friday after a woman at his dinner party found the bodies of his wife and stepson in the freezer as she put away the leftovers, prosecutors said.

The woman went to the police after discovering the 46-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son and officers arrested the man in the town of Verviers, near Liege in east Belgium, on Wednesday.

"She went to the freezer and that is what she saw. She then alerted the police," said Georges Lahaye of the local public prosecutors' office. Prosecutors want the suspect, aged 43, to be remanded in custody to allow more time for an investigation into the deaths.

Lahaye said the suspect had not made a confession. He added that the couple argued a lot.

I knew a girl named after a city in Belgium; Liege was her name. She was something to behold; and I wish sometimes I had held her.

I also knew a woman who kept her dead cat in the freezer for 7 years. People are weird.

Nah, I really do know a girl, well she ain't a girl anymore, named Liege. My allegorical plate is full for the night. I'm gonna write about grace; it looks like this. Never mind I ain't putting the child's picture in this macabre thread.

Oh, I believe you about the girl. But that post grabbed me like a good blurb on the back of a book. I'd read it. Yep.

Grace...okay....looking forward to this one!

Here is a tidbit, I'll preface it. The child's name is Gracie, The use of i. e. is in reference to the Latin term that means "That is". Now see how I did with this sentence.

"Grace, i. e. the disposition to kindness and compassion; that is what I want to meet."

Revised into:

I want to stumble across grace, i. e. the disposition to kindness and compassion; that is what I want trip over one day.
