The trip was wonderful - very wet (but we didn't go for the weather), very scenic and lots of good music and food.
It also taught us lots about Irish history that never gets heard over here.
The people were, without exception, open friendly and welcoming.
The roads were, almost without exception, rough (but obviously a vast improvement in the past few years).
Quote from the travel guide - The Glen of Aherlow is bounded by Galbally and Bansha and is a notorious haunt of outlaws and highwaymen. I'm still trying to find out who the Banshee is
Highlights of the trip have to be the two days we spent exploring Dingle and the day touring round the neolithic sites at Newgrange / Knouth.
Now back to work for a rest.
I'm so glad you had a good time, Bryn. Buttercup and I were just talking yesterday about your return date.
What type of historical things did you learn while there? I'd love to hear some if you feel like telling.
The banshee (Bansidhe) is a wailing ghost that portends death, isn't it? Is it always a female spirit, do you know? I find that stuff very interesting.
Glad you're back with us! :-6
