Who remembers this Rice Crispies Ad?
These three little gnomes were the first and longest-lasting characters to represent a Kellogg's product. They were also the first animated characters to ever appear in a cereal commercial. "Wake up on the Rice side".
Snap! was created in 1933. Snap! is the oldest and is a good-natured leader. He wears a baker's hat.
Pop! was created in 1941. He is a comedian. He now wears an yellow baker's hat. He used to wear an old-style military hat.
Crackle! was created in 1941. The typical know-it-all who sometimes gets caught in the middle. He tries to keep order between the other two. Crackle! wears a red-striped stocking cap.
It is rumored that a 4th, short-lived, character named Pow was introduced in the mid-1950's.
In 1949 Snap! Crackle! and Pop! magically changed from gnomes with huge noses and ears to more human-looking creatures with more proportional features. They continue to evolve. As fashions change, so do their costumes. Their hair also grows long or is cut shorter at times.

Try "right clicking" on it. Save it to your desktop. Open with your media player. It's an old style audio format.
Worth listening to!

I don't remember that one, but I think Rice Krispies have some of the best commercials. My all time favorite:
Snap! What a happy sound
Snap is the happiest sound I've found
You may rap, clap, slap, tap
But Snap! makes the world go 'round.
Snap! Crackle! Pop! Rice Krispies
I say it's Crackle the Crispy sound
You've gotta have Crackle or the clock's not wound
Geese cackle, feathers tickle, belts buckle, beets pickle
But Crackle makes the world 'round
Snap! Crackle! Pop! Rice Krispies
Now I insist that Pop's the sound
The best is missed unless Pop's around
You can't stop hoppin when the cereal's poppin!
Pop! Makes the world go 'round
Snap! Crackle! Pop! Rice Krispies
I know....I'm weird. That commercial must be at least 20 years old.

For awhile, Rice Crispies (and some other cereals) came in boxes which could be opened and used as bowls. I thought this was VERY COOL when I was a kid. It's a good idea, actually, as you just tossed the empty (today you could recycle it) and go on to start your day.
"Snap, Crackle, Pop....RICE CRISPIEEEESSSS!" Is there any food value whatsoever in that stuff? :wah:

Lulu, those boxes were the coolest! I always wondered why they stopped using them.
