There is a very discreet way to feed a infant.

It's not as if it's an unnatural process (unless the kids over 12) but it's a bit disconcerting when my ex, in the middle of a conversation just pops her cups to feed her kid. It's not like I haven't seen them before, but I suppose it's knowing that they've been horrendously enhanced as a divorce treat. Breast feeding in public seems to be quite a rare sight these days though.

Oh hell no.

It's crass, looks like crap, and my opinion hasn't changed since the last nursing thread. I don't want to see it. Don't tell me to turn my head. Go behind a tree or something.

Magenta, look for the last nursing thread we had. My answers are all there. I don't feel like reiterating. No sense arguing about it, I just think it's gross and unnecessary in a modern world.

It's called different views for different people, Magenta.

It's not a matter of anyone being backward, that's just your opinion on the matter. We have bottles now and in spite of all the hoopla about immunity, yada, a bottle fed baby is just as healthy as a nursed one.

I don't care if someone nurses their kid. But I don't need to see it in a public place.

When I'm on a plane a 35,000 feet I'd rather have a Mom breastfeed than hear a hungry baby screaming.

I think it's a beautiful act.

And I'm a prude!

One needs to seperate sex from.. ummm.

Nature? no.

Reality? no.

Porn? Voyerism? no.

It's life.

It's Mother and Child.

It's a Miracle. It's beautiful. :-6

Besides. Ya don't like it? Don't look.

We just disagree, JD. Vehemently.

Is me feeding my baby mashed peas out of a Gerber jar beautiful? Probably not. So why is it beautiful if a tit is involved? It's cow-like to me.

There was once a time when women who were classy, nursed their kids in more private places out of respect for themselves and for other people. Now they have this obnoxious attitude of "F-U if you don't like it!" But that's probably just a reflection of the world's crassness now anyway.

As far as not looking, well...don't put it in my face!

I like the Gerber mashed peas thing too. Guess I just love babies.

I'll give you the respect thing (and ignore the classy line), but that's when society as a whole was prude.

Now I do think there's a big diff between some mom whipping it out just to shut the child up and a Mother feeding her hungry child in the park.

Breastfeeding is natural, and very good for infants. I'm sorry that a few find it gross, but we are all entitled to our opinions.

I cant see anything wrong with it myself:-3 You dont need to show off your whole chest to feed a baby! I think its natural, i have no problem with anyone who does it, and yes i have done it in the past, not in a cafe or on a bus, but in a park.

I breastfed my children, i found it to be a deeply personal moment that i chose to not share with the world. In this day & age facilities are provided for nursing mothers everywhere you go, there is absolutely no need to feed in public view.

I breast fed both my kids. They got fed where ever and whenever needed. Sorry if it offended anyone, but it is a natural process and nothing more.

:wah: I will say though, I didn't just 'flop em' out. It can be done descreetly without giving the whole world the benefit of your enormous, leeking boobies.

I've never seen anyone breastfeeding like that. It looks uncomfortable for the infant, and doesn't that big red star thing get in the way? Perhaps it's a posed or composed picture.

do you know what annoys me? they tell nursing mothers to go into the toilets to breastfeed their babies...would you wanna eat your lunch in a public toilet?! I think not so why should a baby have to:-5

my sister in law has just had a baby and she is very discreet about breastfeeding, its a perfectly natural thing and why should they have to hide it away like its something dirty and unnatural?

All this talk about it being "natural." using the john is natural but we demand privacy...sex is natural but unless you're in Amsterdam, most people don't do it way out in public view and then yell "It's natural! It's beautiful! Don't look if you don't like it!"

A baby is not going to know it's being fed in a restroom so it's no big deal.

When did we decide our personal rights are more important than how others may feel?

Sure. What's next? Why don't we test e-choli infected food products on babies?

Stay tuned for the all new abortion thread.

Why not? They don't know they're being murdered.

I am a very self-conscious person about my body, only was able to breast feed one child and for only first 6 weeks. I loved and it was awesome, I was always covered up and never exposed my breast like in the picture....

I agree with a previous poster, child looks uncomfortable. As for the man...I think he needs someone to talk to him about his baby, he may not be the "true" father!!

Sure.

It's disgusting and unhealthy to feed a child in a public bathroom.

You don't believe I went there?

I can't believe you would be so cold towards a human being.

I'm sure you feed your dogs with more love, care and respect than you give to a baby.

What is it people find so disgusting about breast feeding? I know its been said but you don't have to look when they do, they have made a personal choice to do it and don't wanna be made to feel dirty about it. Many new mothers find it a perfect way to bond with their babies and i personally have no problem with it

i think there is nothing more natural than a mother feeding her child kinda like mary and jesus sorta thing ,and whilst i agree a baby should not be fed in a rest room ,there must be some kind of mid ground here so as some people are not offended

I didn’t mean to argue. Just getting a little passionate. I think I’ll retire from this thread and hope there are no hard feelings.

I will say in closing¦.

Ms. Glitter,

I have received your complaint and have forwarded it to the proper committee. I assure you they will address this bare chested atrocity immediately.

As for myself, I must go to China to check on the child labor. You see, the committee has them making clothes for the lost tribes in South America and Africa. It seems The Discovery Channel has been airing what is nothing less than pornography what with their willies flopping freely about and the women’s hooters performing likewise. Rest assured that this office will put an end to such acts ASAP. Could you imagine what harm viewing these hedonistic savages could cause to our civilized society? After all the work we’ve done to separate ourselves from these beasts.

I will also be in touch with one Ms. Flame of Australia to check on the state of the Aboriginal animals. I’m sure they have things flopping wildly around as well. Guess they don’t call it “The Bush for nothing, eh?

Sincerely,

JD.

Sarcastic Arrogant Bastard.
