My Son Is a State Champion!

I have to do a little bragging here. My son who is in 10th grade in highschool won the 140 lb. State Championship in wrestling this past Saturday. He ended up with a 35-2 record on the season. Yup I am a very proud father.

Way to go Mitchell!!!

I still remember the movie Vision Quest, with Matthew Modine.

Makes you appreciate what goes into wrestling as a sport.

He was in the Kansas State tournament. Last year as a freshman he placed fourth in the same weight, but was about 8-10 pounds under weight. The reason he wrestled up was that he had 2 State Champion Seniors in the weights he wanted to wrestle last year. Thanks everyone . I almost tear up just thinking about it still. I have 2 brothers who were State Champions, I placed 3rd three years in a row so You may understand just how proud I am that he did something I was unable to do. Thanks again.

We tell him he has alien hands. Long fingers and his thumbs are almost as long as his middle fingers. I am sure it actually helps with his wrestling because of the grip he can get.:wah:

Yup sober. When he came off the mat he ran to the side boards where I was watching and jumped into my arms. I lost it a bit and too be honest just thinking about it here writing this I am tearing up.
