Cool pinky, as a somewhat old celt myself I am impressed with your knowledge of the old ways and the old gods! There is a St. Brigid's cross down in the kitchen here, its shaped like a stylized sun, to represent the merging of belief in Lugh and Christ, in pagan Ireland. Interesting as ever.

Not really, its hard to explain, it made from reeds and the center is square with 4 arms pointing out, very stylized representation of the sun, and also a cross, they are quite cool, and you can get em anywhere here, people like having them as they are good for a house to have. :)

I think we had to learn to make them at school, but we thought it was a bit girlie at the time, I could probably remember now though if someone showed me again. They also made us learn the tin whistle, and learn about Cuchulain, Queen Mab, the Cattle Raid of Cooley, and the Fianna which was pretty cool, you would have liked school in Ireland, (apart from the violence)!

I love the stories of the Fianna...they were based not far from you weren't they?

I need to read up about Cuchulain again, I read the stories ages ago, but my memeory could do with a refresher.

Funny really, I got given a load of books a couple of weeks ago, a few of which include all this stuff..I might have a couple of days of reading over the weekend since I'm looking after a friend's place for them...peace and quiet!

Yes, I can see the mountain that Fionn is supposedly buried under from my window, they were Leinster, while the red branch knights were Ulster and Connaught, I am not sure about Munster? Thats cool, some R&R time to yourself at last, and you have loads of new books I am very jealous! You deserve it though, so enjoy!

I'll probably be wearing something flowy and green for that one...The one after that - Beltane - is the most interesting one clothes-wise;)

Ever heard of skyclad? I'm sure you must have done having a wiccan sister!

Oh I have I think, but I can't remember what it is, tell me please!
