I may not be Australian, but I think these guys are a hoot! I'd never heard of them before...very funny! Thanks for the giggles!

Or balwyn calling is a good one as well.Actually, Skyhooks wrote heaps of songs with references to Melbourne. They were before my time but I rediscovered them on a best of CD. They were very good and didn't date at all. Pity about Shirl though :-1

The most melbournian song would be "I remember" by Paul Kelly when he is singing about the MCG.

Sydney wise, the James Reyn song "Reckless" about the manly ferry is a very good one too.

I was in Melbourne in early 2006 for three weeks and it looked to me like they are undergoing a construction boom. New buildings going up everywhere. Very impressive.
