Hypocondriacs, sympathy junkies, drama queens

Do you pander to them, feel sorry for them or want to shake them?

Nah, kidding! There are some types of people who constantly have to moan and do the old 'woe is me' thing..if this si just a part of their personality, I lose patience and end up telling them to get it together!

Great topic BC :-6 I have to agree with Pinky on this one i don't have much sympathy :(

I used to work with one, and let me tell you if it wasnt one thing it was another,

this girl had all of us thinking that she wasnt eating etc because she had no money etc. All these major things happened to her every night, complain, I sick , she always had this major black cloud over her, we took up a collection and bought a food card for her, and her mom found out and told us to get our money back that none of this was true, oh , the mistakes and drama were true but only because she craved them.

Every one avoided her after that!

You cant use people for your drama.

Hypochondriacs? Difficult to know. I've an acquaintence who had to go into

hospital for a fairly routine abdominal op. I took his girlfriend in to hosp. to

see him. On the way, she confided that X was silly, a *real hypochondriac*,

and kept on saying X thought he had a "brain tumour". This was about 6

weeks ago. 10 days ago, X came to see me, nervous, fingers to lips. He'd

confided in his doctor, he said. He was sent to hosp. and X-rayed. He is now

banned from driving, and is going in again for a whole battery of tests to see

what the abnormality in the RHS of his brain really is.

Sympathy junkies? "There, there... ooh, I *know*... yes... yes... no... no...

Oooh, I *know*!".

Drama queens. Just take in the show.

Yes, I do know at least one hypocondriac.. I have to manage with her when I am at my job ..she is the boss..

What should I do?

Just to hear, pretending to be sympathetic..even if you would like to throw her out of the door..

If you have headache ... she suffers for headache greater than yours,

if your son had varicella (?) she had the most terrible form of varicella ever known..

If you have colitis....she has always suffered of colitis...

and so on..

I wonder how she could stay on her feet...

Some weeks ago, one of our co-worker's son has been operated for "varicocele"...

Do you say we should inform her and wait for "......me too!!!" ?:wah:
