I cook my roast in the slow cooker all day on Sunday-the kids make shredded beef tacos from it, my husband gets the traditional roast, just a side of good veggies to go with it.

All of those wonderful dishes sound GREAT!!!

Foods that curl my toes include:

Fresh figs and ricotta cheese

Pad thai

Singapore noodles

Wild mushroom risotto

Crusty bread with real butter

Thick creamy yoghurt with honey

Seafood crepes

Roast duck with orange or cherry sauce

Baked salmon with dill and little potatoes in their jackets

Asparagus, broccoli, spring greens

Pumpkin soup with coriander/cilantro

Woodfire style pizza

Red Leicester cheese

Real NY bagels

A good caesar salad

Homemade spaghetti with ditto basil pesto

Leg ham off the bone with a glass of champers

Mangoes, apricots, green grapes, bananas, gala apples, papaya, blueberries

Muscatel raisins and almonds

I think I'm going to faint!!! I LOVE FOOD!!! I just reread that list. Guess I'm a yuppie.... :D

I'd love you to, Guppy!! I have a girlfriend in Atlanta and - apart from giving me the most adrenalin pumping fast car drive round the city in the middle of the night - she introduced me to the delights of collard greens. YUMMO!!

I'm a little thing... :sneaky: - and while I adore food, I can't eat vast amounts, so I reckon what I do eat is gonna be good. I left good coffee off the list. I am wedded to every good barista I've found.. and if none of them are around, to my plunger... giggle..

I do up my roasts in the crock pot too...turns out great.

Also, nothing beats good old home made macaroni and cheese.

A suggestion for next time you cook a roast. Baste and brown the cut with French dressing. Then cook as you would normally.
