i used to live on this street...the harvest is a colorful beautiful thing! the road would be covered in cranberries and my kids would track them in the house! in the winter the bogs froze over and we ice-skated on them. i love this time of year!

cranberry harvest
Wow! How cool! You know, LadyCop, it wasn't until a few years ago that I found out cranberries grew in bogs!
I just thought they grew on bushes like other berries. I think it would be neat to see a cb bog personally. Cool photo!

I am not much on cranberries. But Rick loves them. One of the few areas of food preferences where we differ.

in the Fall the color explodes...the indians used to call them CRANE berries. they are harvested with big wooden rakes and contained in one area as you see in the pic. i could never eat that stuff in the cans! while they are fresh in the store now, throw a few bags in the freezer and use for cranberry nutbread when you feel like it.~~ to make wonderful homemade sauce for your holiday table, put a pound of berries in a saucepan, barely cover with water, add a little sugar, not too much, and some orange peel. simmer until all the berries pop. doesn't take long. yummy!
