prayers for chantelle please

as many of you know i have a daughter in the states that is very unhappy and she wanted to spend christmas with some people after trying to get through to her for several days

i got through to her mom last night who matter of fact told me chantelle has tried taking her life and is in hospital for several days and to not buy an airline ticket as chantelle wont be coming over for christmas

the mom would not let me have the number of the hospital as it was incovenient for her to talk

so i'm here not knowing how or where my daughter is ,having sobbed my self dry through a sleepless night, sue and i are in agreement that if we dont get chantelle back soon she wont be alive much longer:-1 :-1 :-1

thanks guys obviously i'm destroyed by this my body is shaking and i've cried until my eyes are like to boiled eggs with pepper on them but my spirit is strong things are out of my hands at the moment all i can do is try to stay in control and try to be positive , what else can i do :-6

This was my first thought too.

Do you have any numbers for Chantelle's friends that you can contact for updates?

Or you could phone the local hospitals and give her name.

Could you send her a mobile phone?

That way you can phone her, she can phone you and you can put money on it for her so she always has credit? (Make sure its one she can use in the US). She could have it turned off when her mum's around so she doesn't even know about it.

I can't understand some people, for the past few days i felt that we needed to speak to Chantelle, we had been trying for the last few days but their was no answer and they don't have an answering service, last night we finally got through. I was laying in bed when Jim just dropped the phone, he told me C had taken an overdose, he called Sam back, to be told she's in hospital and she wont e coming over for Christmas and it was 'inconvienient' to talk now!!! What the *******!!!

I really don't understand why Sam wont let C come over here, C has made it clear she wants to come and this is the 2nd time she's taken an overdose in a month. Sam works full time and just comes and goes as she pleases without a thought to Chantelle, it was only 10 days ago she pissed off to Florida and only told C that morning! At least if C came here, i'm always around, i work from home, Jim works local, i could get C a good Dr, she could work for me or she could go to school, maybe after all thats happened she just needs to start a fresh.

I'm going to call Sam in a while to ask if she can come here, i'm going to have to kiss ass when all i feel like doing is kicking it.

I'll let you all know how i get on

This child is crying out for help!

Contact child protection services in her area. Even if they weren't married Jim must have some claim to his daughter, especially if her mother leaves her alone and if C is suicidal. There MUST be a contingent to cover this!

At least if you contact them you'll KNOW where you stand and they'll be made aware of C's plight. It surely can't hurt to try. Hugs. :yh_hugs

Oh I am so sorry to hear about this, all of you must be going through such a hard time with this, especially when you have her mother not giving a damn, which must be such a frustration. I say good on you Suzy for trying your upmost to talk some sense into the woman, even though I know you would rather do something else.

Jimbo, both you and Suzy have to stay strong through this tough time, I am certain that all will turn out well in the end, and you must believe this too. My best thoughts and prayers go out to all of you!! :-6

If worse comes to worse and you think that she is going to remain in danger than you should report it to the local child protection agency. They can tell you what action can be taken and likely intervene in a case where the child has tried to kill herself on more than one occasion. You might be able to wake the mother up by mentioning that you'll feel forced to call the agency if she doesn't convince you of C's safety.

thank you all so much for your kind words and support, i did mention on another thread that Chantelle only came home last month from a 'home', she couldn't stand it there and felt very cut off from her friends and boyfriend, and it was there that her best friend died. I am sure that the authorities must be involved as the number of times she has been taken to hosp and from being in the 'home'. I feel the best thing is C to come here with us, to be around warm, loving and affectionate family. I am calling America in a minute and i'll let you know how i get on, thanks for all your support :-4 :-4

Yes please anyone thats near there please let us know, she wouldn't even let us know what hospital she's in, i'm going to try to get numbers of all the hospitals in the area and start calling them.

I agree the child protection services need called. Between the egg donor taking off to Florida, the child being in a home and suicide attempts, hopefully they will help fight to get her where she will feel loved and happy.

Oh how wonderful I got goose bumps when I heard you found her on the first try. Get her a passport (which takes a bit) and now she has something wonderful to look forward to a home with you and Suzy. :-4

Things are certainly looking a lot brighter than last night, we really need to speak to C's mum, but she wont answer our calls, just worried that she'll dash all C's hopes of coming over and she'll feel really bad again and do something silly, C couldn't talk properly earlier as i think the phone was on the nurses station, when we phone later we'll she if she has a direct number. We tried a few times to get hold of Shaun this morning but i know that he leaves really early for work, he is such a tower of strength for Chantelle, i really do believe that he is like a guardian angel looking out for her, he is only 18 and is a really good boy, doesn't do drugs, stuck with C through all her bad times, yet C's mum and step-father treat him awful because he doesn't conform to their standards!!! When we called last night he calmly told us what happened and said he'd help us in anyway possible - what a great kid, anyway i'll post you later:-4
