Have you ever gone online and browsed for cute gifs and jpgs just to keep or collect them? I used to do it for hours upon hours at a time. Usually on my college pc's in the computer lab. Does anyone here do that?

Now I have to learn how to make my own in an Illustrator class.

That class sounds like a lot of fun, I hope you share your creations with us.
I don't think this forum allow uploading of the Illustrator files. Or does it? I tried it on another forum too.

Yes I love gifs - collecting them and using them! They're fun! :D

I usually just collect good ones as and when I see them, but my daughter has just started making her own and is actually very good at it.

It opened up an interesting question, because I saw some good graphics the other day which the owner refused to allow anyone to copy. I said this was a shame because surely if people like your work and copy it then you have the pleasure of seeing more folks on the web using and enjoying your artwork.

But my daughter disagreed and said that each gif is composed of many many stills that take her a LONG time to map out and so she could understand why a gif owner would not want anyone to steal something which they have put hours of work into!

It certainly made me see things differently! :)

I'll probably have to convert them or export them for the web in jpg format. So I'll do that after the class ends.

Sometimes it takes a little while to load but they are worth it

Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity.
