Aloha,

We go to Hawaii - Waikiki - every year, the 1st of November. This is our 5th year and we meet couples from Canada, Europe, Montana, there's about 8 of us that meet every year. Some stay 6 weeks, we're staying 15 days, can't wait, we love Hawaii.

Have you been to Hawaii? - Where? What was the Good, Bad and the Ugly.??

Any suggestions on a must see or do ? Would you go again?

It's not expensive - round trip tickets $290.00. Hotel is $70.00 a night and we're 1/2 block off the beach, it's wonderful.

I'd rather go on vacation instead of a new car or whatever.?

Halloween is like Mardi Gras - everyone's in costume walking up and down the main ave., or driving up & down the ave., stores hand out candy - last year was a blast, this guy was batman in a black sports car - cool..

Baby Rider - Look into this time of year - we bought our ticket back in May/June..

You'd love it..

Lovely I have been to Oahu, Maui and Kauwai (sorry spelt wrong me thinks)

Loved Kauwai the best but I like more quiet and secluded spots.

Must see, hmmm a lua, take a catamaran out to horseshoe island and snorkle, ummm drive the coast of Maui, the culture center is way cool, Pearl Harbor is facinating, ummmmm I am sure there is more

I've been to Kauai - I was married there - Fern Groto

Remember Charo's Restaurant at the end of the island? - I believe it was washed away - it was so different - built on piers and the water would come right in at all times. I haven't been to Pearl Harbor yet - I can't bring myself to visit - I'll cry - I'm too emotional - maybe this trip we'll go ??

Thanks for the info.

I am soooo envious!! I'm a beach bum. I dream of visiting Hawaii... or the Bahamas, or something. Lived in Biloxi, Ms when I was little. I really miss it! I want to retire somewhere where there's a beach.

But Hawaii's on my list of places to visit! Oh! And my cousin got married there too!

Hi Patsy,

I wish I were going with... can I be packed in your suitcase - I promise not to make a sound :D

The last time we were in Hawaii was 3 years ago. My aunt and uncle (& cousins) live on Oahu (North Shore). I really really miss it. My favorite stop is at the macademia nut farm and I love the luaus at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

My bf is a huge surfer so we love the North Shore (Winter time). I'm not that big of a fan of Waikiki because it is very touristy and expensive compared to Haleiwa. I loved the laid back lifestyle of the NorthShore. Besides staying with my aunt we have also stayed at the Keiki Beach Bungalows. Those are really really nice because they are planted right on the beach. :)

Have you had a chance to go to Wiamea park?

I know what you mean for Waikiki tourist b.s. - Hawaii has the best bus system - we take the city bus to Turtle Bay - it's beautiful - I have to stop at the shrimp shacks - we buy a bus pass and travel everywhere, it's a great transit system, goes around the complete island - love it.. Turtle Bay area has the surfer comptetion every Nov., wonderful to watch ... Thanks for the imput.

It is truly paradise I have been to the Big Island, Maui, Kauai 2 time I totally recommend it to anyone. The beauty of the Island is unbelievable. :-6 You will have a wonderful time period. The best part of it is you really only need to pack Shorts, Flip Flop, Sun Dresses and your Bikini.. you don't need any other clothes..;)

Doesn't sound like you needed much clothes for the sex, drugs, rock & roll days either. Fun times. Hawaii is so relaxed - very few clothes needed..

PatsyYes Lordd I used to live in Hawaii. Military of course, lol. Was stationed on Oahu and worked at Tripler, the big pink army hospital sitting on a hill over there. Sure do miss Hawaii. I was a big sinner during those years, lol.

I can see that pink building on the hill from our hotel room, we thought it was a hospital, wasn't sure.?? Naturally Waikiki was changed with growth -still wild, fun , and a sin city..!! This is the best time of year to go.

We leave tomorrow, Monday @ 2:00 and return Nov. 15th..

Can't wait - fun, relaxing and beautiful sunsets. You'll have to try to return someday.?? Thanks for the history. Aloha
