Please everyone, let me know what your favorite bubbly is!!

I spose my favorite would have to be Piper Heidsieck, (Marilyn's

favorite!!) and I got a bottle of Cristal for New Year's 1999, but

the budget is a LOT tighter these days so I've been sticking with

an $8 a bottle Korbel. Good, but I would like to try something a

little different... if anyone has an obscure thing that they really

like, lemme know! And thanks!!

I assume that you mean Champagne, not simply any sparkling wine?

Well, I tried not to offend either camp by saying "bubbly"!

Champagne OR sparkling wine, either one. Being in California, we have

some pretty good sparkling wines but I do like the expensive "real" stuff!

There are sparkling wines that rival Champagne, IMO. The question is rather broad to answer properly, I think. A bit like saying "Which dessert wine is best?". It depends on all sorts of things. The "quality" (perhaps "name"? "reputation"?) isn't the only one factor.

So help me narrow it down a bit then...

I was just sort of casually asking for everyone's ideas I do realize it's a

little hard because you don't know someone else's tastes, but maybe

we could all experiment a little if it wasn't too expensive... I have had

a "sparkler" that I like very much and it's from Spain and only $6 at

Cost Plus!!

Martini and Rossi Asti Spumanti, for the bubbly.

Otherwise I like a good Piesporter, and sometimes Merlot.
