The unfortunate lil' creature... :( By the way, why do old people sip on a cup of tea all day long, anyway? Just think... this all could've been prevented had she not been sipping on the same cup of tea all day long... besides, it's unsanitary... the bat in her cup should probably be the least of her concerns... :lips: I admit I drink rather dark black tea, but... how could you still not notice a bat?

Obviously not a Sydney fruit bat!! These are the size of large birds and I'm just watching a bunch of them now fly past the crescent moon..

I'm waiting for a news item along the lines of "Iowa bat finds drowned woman in tea mug", myself.

Oh, BATS! You know, I did CPR on a kitten once....if only I'd had the chance to save Frankie! (Drunken bat breath & everything....I'd've tried!)

Well if she thought he was the teabag I wonder how she picked him up. Tea bags usually have those string things attached.

Was he the John Holmes of bats??

But...if he'd been only asleep, he'd've awakened and begun swimming....surely she'd've noticed?

Know what you mean Pinks. There's a woman in her 80's who lives 2 doors down the road from me, and she recently asked me in for a chat and a cuppa. When I got to the bottom, the old bag was still there.....knitting as I recall :D

Zinky, I'll bet that, given enough space to extend its arms, a bat could get out of water. I've seen them skimming along the tops of rivers in Africa.

Poor Frankie! Drowned in a tea cup, he did! His name will be legend...and, wherever bats gather for a brewskie or two, Frankie will be mentioned and grieved.
