i know i posted in Cars' thread about nancy grace in relation to this case...the 2 year old boy missing in florida. have any people here been following it? the mother claimed he was abducted through a 10-inch slash in his bedroom screen. she refused to cooperate with local police or take a polygraph, routine in such cases. she has since committed suicide. police have seached the state forest for days now, including diving a lake there, they've now abandoned that search. but what really was of interest today was that it has been confirmed that the day after the child was reported missing, the police found the following in the dumpster next to Trenton's home: his toys. his baby photos. baby food. a sonogram. someone was trying to erase all memory of him.

The least the so-called mother could have done is leave a suicide note where his body could be found. :-5

What a very sad situation. It's awful to contemplate such desperation.

Apparently seems like this mother was somewhat disturbed, such a sad state of affairs. It's perplexing that the todler's belongings were found in the dumpster, so then where could "he" be?

this is ONLY my opinion. i think melinda killed the baby and disposed of him in a trash bag. there was a box of new trash bags, minus one, in the dumpster with the baby's toys and photos. clearly she was disturbed, she did kill herself with a shotgun, very rare for a woman to do. recent cell phone records have shown her many miles from where she said she was. out in the depths of woods and palmetto scrub. that poor child will never be found.

------TRENTON DUCKETT CASE

Police renew search for Trenton Duckett

The Marion County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday it will launch a parallel investigation into the disappearance of toddler Trenton Duckett, this time "the focus being that little Trenton is alive."

The Sheriff's Office will hold a press conference at 11 a.m. Wednesday to provide details about an eyewitness at a Marion County Wendy's restaurant and cell-phone records that link Trenton's mother Melinda Duckett to the area around the time her son went missing three months ago.

The new information prompted the Marion County Sheriff's Office to review investigative work by the Leesburg Police Department, the FBI and other law-enforcement agencies.

"We just want to go at it with the outlook that Trenton Duckett is still alive," sheriff's Capt. James Pogue said. "There are a lot of people out there that assume because we spent days and weeks searching the Ocala National Forest that he is dead."

Pogue added: "In this we hope to energize people with positive thinking that Trenton Duckett is alive." Melinda Duckett told police her 2-year-old son Trenton was taken through a bedroom window on Aug. 27.

Twelve days later she killed herself, as authorities considered her a prime suspect in the child's disappearance.

The Marion announcement that a task force will work out of The Villages and try to "catapult this case to the next level" comes two days before TV talk-show host Nancy Grace is scheduled to broadcast new shows on the case from Leesburg. Joshua Duckett, the boy's father, said Tuesday night that he's known for a week about the eyewitness and efforts to re-examine past casework.

"I know more than everybody else, but I can't let it out," he said, adding that today's announcement should provide more evidence that Trenton is alive. "It makes us a lot more confident. But you know, we thought that [he was alive] all along."

Leesburg police Maj. Steve Rockefeller said, "They're bringing in a new set of eyes and new investigative minds." Rockefeller said Leesburg police will also continue investigating.

if this child is still alive, and the mother handed him off to someone, it's a despicable cruelty to let the father, the grandparents and the community suffer all this time.
