Two Helicopter companies are vying for the new prestigious USA Presidential Helicopter contract. One company is here in America, the other is Overseas, partering with an American company here in USA to make it considered built in USA.
The subject of "best Helicopter" seems to have taken a back seat to "political pressure" as GWB may "owe" PM Blair (His is one of the Countries involved) for his Iraq stand. The contract's awarding has been postponed several times already.
Where should the President of the USA's Helicopter be built, in the USA or Overseas? :-2

One would assume that it should just be the best helicopter for the job. Why should where it is made have any bearing?

This issue has become a "political" delema for GWB, as he owes PM Blair (one of the countries where company is) for has Iraq stand.

Sorry, I mis-read your OP and just agreed with a point you'd already made. Well, if Mr. Bush is worried that there'll be a reaction if he doesn't get a helicopter or bits of same from Britian, and that Benito Blair will be upset, then it seems to me he's making a mountain out of a molehill. Surely there must be better things to worry about. He should get what is materially best, just that.
