Let's create a forum where we can honor fellow Gardeners through the fine tradition of roasting.

I don't know if the term is international. A roast is normally a formal dinner with a head table. The honoree is seated next to the speakers lecturn and has to endure as speaker after speaker takes the pee out of him/her.

We can do a similar thing here for special occassions such as birthdays or just because we want to :D . Someone starts a thread for an individual and we can all post a roast.

What do ya'll think?

Sounds cool, Acc. So long as people realize that the roast is all in good fun...not a place for mud slinging. I would just not want it to get out of hand.

I would participate, though.

Fabulous idea, Acc!

Should we wrap it around birthdays or just choose someone?

We can do it to celebrate birthdays, or maybe really high post milemarkers - like when Chonsi hits 15,000 day after tomorrow. :wah:

I think for some footballers, it's meat and two veg, usually dished out in a posh hotel :-3

Hey Arnie - Now that you're a grandad, do you feel more comfortable about spending many hours in Mothercare than you felt when you had no reason to be in there?

I would have to go double check, but I think there is an alternate chat room, one without Mother earth..or whatever her name. If memory serves, you have to click on the bar at top to switch rooms.

Just checked, I was right. Near the top of the chat area there is a bar thing that says Rooms: Spirits in the Garden.

Just at the right there is the up/down arrow thing. Click on that, and you switch to the room :Relaxing in the Garden. No Mother Hen there.

i dont think this is a good idea, i think it will cause a few fall outs after all the usual ego massaging has passed

dont we already see enough ego massaging on the boards, do we really need anymore? light the fires & watch the flames

just my 2 cents worth

It's a separate forum, set up for this specific reason. People who don't enjoy it don't have to read it.

I seldom read the sports threads, for instance.

Yes, snooze is right. I heard several say they wouldn't want to be roasted.

Why doesn't AC be the moderator, and he can ask his selection first if it would be all right. That way, if they say no, nobody but they know about it.

I think this sounds like great fun and it's a way to get to know each other better for us newbies. How would having someone (or more than one) volunteer to be the first and then just vote on who you want to spit and put over the flames first.

There doesn't seem to be a reply to your q. In the Yook, to "give someone a

roasting" means to castigate or harangue them for a percieved misdeed.

OK, at what temperature would one set the oven to roast a forum? And for how long, exactly?
