The Great Escape

Post by BabyRider »

So I'd finally stumbled off to bed last night, just got comfy and was about to nod off, when I hear this metallic clang from the living room. WTF??!? I grab the shotgun, not having any idea if someone is trying to break in or what, and rack a shell. I didn't hear any reaction to that sound, so I slowly stuck my head around the bedroom door to peek into the living room, which is lit enough by the snake's heat lamp to let me see.

There's no one there. I go to investigate where the sound came from, as Monster was curled up in bed with me. Then I saw it....the clips holding down the lid of Fuzzy's tank were unattached. I pulled up both his logs to see if he'd actually gotten out, and sure enough he was gone. I invented 3 new swear words, and kicked myself in the ass for not checking the clips better after I'd given him clean water. Finally, I zeroed in on the source of the noise. He's knocked over a heavy metal candle holder I have and I just caught the end of his tail disappearing behind the entertainment center. He wrapped himself around the cords back there and would NOT let go, the stubborn ass. He even fought me when I tried to put him back in his tank!!

Apparently, he thought he was going on an adventure. I gave him a piece of advice, to be quieter next time. :yh_rotfl

:yh_rotfl Fuzzy the snake (4 ft. ball python) and Monster the cat, (18 lb. brute of the neighborhood) have an understanding to the point that they are not sure who would win a fight between them, so they avoid each other as much as possible. I know Fuzzy could kill Monster, but not eat him, and Monster is just as likely to kill Fuzz. They have reached a stalemate until Fuzzy gets bigger. Hopefully, he won't get much bigger!!

The Great Escape is a great movie! ;)

I was going to start a thread, but it works here, too:

Different kind of lost pet flyer...

Up in my neighborhood... missing, Mr. K, a 4 1/2 foot

long ball python. Friendly, calm, non venomous. Likes

dark warm tight places...

Can you imagine? Comin' across that thing on a shelf

in your garage or something... people would FREAK.

ROFL! Fuzzy almost made it! I'll bet he was mad that he got caught so soon into his stroll!

I got to hold a python that big once, but he was a little skittish and began to squish my arm pretty good. Man those things are strong!;)

How long have you had him?

They are VERY strong. Fuzzy can cut off the circulation in my arm in about 15 seconds when he's really trying. When Bullet carries him around the house around his neck, Fuzzy always takes his glasses off!

I've had him a little less than a year, but he's probably 3 or 4 years old. We took him from a guy who had 3 (2 pythons, 1 boa) and didn't know how to take care of them, and actually abused one. The snake had started to go into it's shed, and he started peeling it, because he "thought it was cool", but the membrane over his eyes wasn't ready to come off yet, and he blinded that one. We took all of them off his hands and found homes for 2 and kept Fuzz.
