GREAT ride today!!

Post by BabyRider »

We got the bikes out today, and really opened them up. Took a nice long ride out to where the best twisties in the area are, shook off some more rust, stopped at a dingy little bar and had the best darn buffalo burger I've ever had, and won 8 bucks playing Keno.

Got back on the bikes and took an even twistier road home, scared some old ladies, deafened a few "bass-thumping" punks by revving out our pipes right on top of them, and generally had a blast playing tag, and feeling the wind in our faces. We're planning an even longer ride tomorrow, if the weather holds. :yh_pray

Damn, but I love being a biker.

Grrrrrr I'm jeolous.

Dave's electric wiring harness is loose, so he has to pull off his faring and fix it all. But he's busy cause spraying season has started, so no last minute joy rides for us till he gets it fixed. :(

Think of me tomorrow!

Oh that sucks. I know you've told me before Sheryl, but what do you guys ride?? If the wiring harness is just loose, it shouldn't be a huge job to get it righted, but of course, work comes before play. I think getting the faring off would be a worse job than fixing the loose wiring!

We're getting both bikes detailed this Saturday, and I am SO excited. She'll be all polished up and purty, waxed and gleaming. We lubed the chain on my bike today, so all that gunk will be gone, too. Got my new windshield put on, and it's just fabulous. I can still feel the wind in my face, but it's not yanking my head around like last season.

I will surely think of you while I'm blowing Bullet's "doors" off, wishing you were out there in the wind, too. Keep the rubber side down!! :yh_peace

I have actually been waiting for you to bring that up!!

You know how I feel, LC. While I have decided that I will wear my helmet even if the law is repealed, (currently it is expired, so technically, we could get away without wearing our helmets) I will still wear mine, except to club funeral processions. (That's a respect thing.) That does not mean that I don't think it should be rider's choice. As long as you're covered medically in case of an accident, it should be the choice of the individual to wear one or not. The government already infringes on too many of our rights as it is. (I'm speaking in general, not just bikers.) The right to choose. We should all have that, in pretty much every aspect of our lives. As long as it's not hurting anyone else, we should be able to make our own choices in these things. And let's face it, if a bike goes up against a car, or even another bike, and a rider is not wearing his/her helmet, they are the ones that will be hurt, not anyone else. Not because the rider is or isn't wearing a lid.

Dave has a '94 Harley Electraglide.

I'll have to get some before/after photos posted. He bought it wrecked off ebay with a clean title and totaly redid it.

Your bike's gonna be so clean and shiny your not gonna wanna get it dirty after Saturday. And I agree with ya helmets should be a choice.

Glad to hear you had a great time BR, sounds like a heck of a lot of fun. Though I think you should be a little more considerate to the old ladies the next time hahaha. :D

Put me on one side of the car, and Bullet on the other and crank the throttles....you'll have earbleeds. We have SOOOO much fun drowning out that bass crap that people are so sick of being subjected to. Of course, they're not too crazy about our bikes coming down the street at 3 am, either!! :yh_rotfl

Had another really nice ride today. Lots of errand running, but we rode the water again today, which was COLD!! Just a few degrees difference beween today and yesterday, and today I was wishing for my chaps when we were right next to the lake.

But still, there's nothing like riding Jefferson....the lake on one side, and mansion, after mansion on the other. Very beautiful and serene.

I sense a challenge in your feeble little attempt at a threat. Would you care to put it to a test? I've busted glass with the loudness of my pipes. Between the two of us, you'd be begging for mercy in mere seconds.
