Our big scare... (everything's okay now)

Post by valerie »

This morning around 4:30 Tamsen started making some funny noises,

licking and gulping and almost like she was going to upchuck. Since that

can be a sign of bloat, we got dressed and hustled her off to our Animal

Care Center. I am so thankful we have this place available to us, it's

expensive but we get top notch care there.

After some anxious moments while they took films... to our relief, Tamsen's

tummy is just fine. She might have had a little "acid reflux" type stuff.

We spoke at some length with the vet and are going to start giving her

Pepsid AC.

I am so relieved at the outcome. I told Paul before we went that "This

might be it". I don't think we'd want to put a 13 year old girl through

major surgery at this point.

We're all home now, and Tamsen is laughing at the worrywarts she has

for a momma/poppa!!

Funny you should say that... we remarked on that very thing ourselves

this morning. We've had a number of times late night or early weekend

mornings.

Im very glad to hear all is well.

I had a bad one with my neighbours cat. She calle dand woke me early the other morning, l could hear the cat screaming in pain over the phone spo went rushing over. The poor dear wasnt dressed and was in a state so l rushed gizmo up to the vet and called her from hte exam room. There was pretty much nothing that could be done and his age (20) made it worse. So l kept the promise l made on hte way out her front door, if he had to go l wouldnt leave him. So l didnt, well he isnt mine but he was a lovely old guy and full of character, so l was a wreck, but l stayed with him and gave him love right up to the last second.

so its been a weird few days, myself and my neighbour had a good old cry together and then talked about all the stuff he used to get up too...

theyre not pets, they are family members and friends..

Gizmo l will miss your grumpy meow outside the window and your demands for love..sleep well old man xx

Non-furry kids are the same, bless 'em! They all just KNOW how much you prefer to be sitting up with them all night!

Sleep? Who needs it? I laugh in the face of sleep...............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ;)

Glad all is well now Val! :-6
