Can you believe that today a "Peacock" with a 5 foot long tail crossed the road in front of my car. :-2 Luckily I was slowing down to make a turn, but the thing seemed not to be afraid of the car bearing down on it. As it just keep on walking to get to the other side of the road! (Tis true!!! Really)

If I really wanted to, I could have had it for dinner if I aimed the car at it, as it just walked slowly across the road  )

When I lived in Florida I had a peacock in my yard. He wasnt mine per say he was free to come and go but he didnt, he stayed only in my yard. At least until some neighborhood kids killed him with a bb gun the little pricks.

No.....a loop around my house! :) He was checking out my bird feeding stations and snatched 2 suet blocks I had out for the woodpeckers. He just woke from hibernating....his first visit was 4am Monday.

A peacock would be a lovely thing to see in ones backyard. All I've gotten new this year are turkey buzzards -- 4 of them walking through our yard right by the window where I'm sitting.............. talk about being startled......... Me, not the birds. :D

Well he might be grumpy so take care.

We were canoeing up in Boundary Waters way back and a bear got up in the tree and tore our food pack down, shredded the whole thing, it was quite a sight. A hungry bear isnt something you want to mess with. But I guess you know that already.

Those kids killing that beautiful peacock was such a shame Nomad, too bad they were not punished somehow. Yeah Snooze, I could have run that silly bird over with my car & had dinner as well as the feathers. Arnold I have seen pheasants before here also, you're right they are stupid, but this was the first time ever seeing a peacock. Lil- Black Bears are nasty, did you alert the game warden or whomever? That's why we stopped feeding the Birds here, so as to stop unwanted visitors from raiding the food. SOJO- we have a family of wild Turkeys (7or 8) roaming our area. Again, could have been a really easy dinner to get.

No cars...no need to alert a game warden. :) Bears are just coming out of hiberation, as is everything else. They are just looking for something to eat and move on, since their natural foods aren't available at this time. (Berries, apples, nuts, etc) I've lived here over 30 years and have never had any problems with them. :)

SORRY...BOO HOO!!! I was driving to work and did not have the camera with me. It was a "nice surprise" though. But....that is usually my luck anyways....if I have a camera, I don't see anything.......if I don't have it...well, you know...that is when you could kick yourself in the A-S-S!!???

I can't believe it, today again while passing the same neck of the woods, this time a family of 8 peacocks crossed over the same road in front of my car. I guess that must be in an area close to where their nest is. Amazing sight to see. :)

(For me anyway)

see foxes regular here..

the urban kind, they have no fear, have to be careful thought they will take domestic cats if they can catch em. Once had three corner my max (cat) the dog chased em though..

dont get me wrong l love all animals (well not rats) but l dont want em eating my cat...:-2
