Last week I had to go to meeting in London, so I decided to let the train take the strain and left the car at home for a change.
Sitting there on the train bound for Charing Cross a man sat oppisite me carrying a large rucksack!
Now this is really bad of me and I do feel bad about it but I did.
I started to feel a bit on edge, this poor man was fine and obviously un-aware of my un-ease sitting oppisite him.
He was I expect just one of hundreds of students who need to carry their own personal library around with them whilst they are studying.
It has been about a year since I ventured on a train and I suppose with all the terrible happenings on our trains, buses and tubes it had made me un-intentionally think the worst of this fellow traveller.
I did stay put in my seat but in vain british stiff upper lip style continued my journey reading my paper.
How bad of me!
How bad of me!
Would you have felt so uneasy about a guy with a suitcase in the rack?
You can get more into a suitcase.

With all that's gone on in the last few years Deckard, it's really not surprising!
And at least you're aware!
If this chap had gone off and left his rucksack tucked under the seat, at least you would have been aware enough to inform the guard, or whatever.
You certainly wouldn't have left it sitting there, ticking away for half an hour!
Sadly, it's one of the consequences of the world we live in today!
I was shopping in Tesco's last week when I noticed a group of about 7 middle-eastern-looking men gathered together in a corner of the store and yabbering away in Afghani (or whatever!) It looked extremely wierd, even though it may have been totally innocent! Anyway, I scarpered and left them to it. Chicken that I am! hehe :yh_chickn

I don't blame you for having the jitters...I would too.
I went to Brighton on the train a couple of weeks ago and stopped for a coffee because i was early....couldn't find a bin for the cup and found out that all the refuse bins have been removed in case anyone plants a bomb in them. Sign of the times I guess.

Deckard.. I wanted to answer you this morning.. but I couldnt.. my account was screwed up.... I had the identical experience.. 10 0r 12 years ago.. in New York.Coming home on the rail road... pulling out of Manhattan. 3 Middle Eastern type looking men.. big black bags with them. There had recently been a massacre shooting at an airport in Italy. I was a nervous wreck. One of them slid their hand down into the bag. I literally leapt out of my seat..... and stood between cars for the rest of the way home. This is what the state of the world is doing to us. It is a pity. If your going to San Fransisco..... wear some flowers in your hair..... Eons ago. I want that world back.

During the two years I spent down in Georgia.. I flew back and forth to Virginia at least 8 times. That is 2 flights each way. I felt I was tempting fate every single time. But the pull to see my family was so strong that I overcame the fear, and just put my life in Gods hands.

The real kicker is its only a handful of people that are doing this. In this way they have made strides but not won. We shifted thats all, we made some adjustments and its business as usual *uckers !
I AM AWESOME MAN
