It is quite big news over here. And every mention of their release includes sorrow over the death of their fourth companion, Tom Fox. He was killed just because he was american. We're not the most popular of sorts these days! Especially in the middle east.

I have a problem with well meaning folks who knowingly place themselves in harms ways for the benefit of serving their "cause" and then expect members of our Armed Forces to lay their lives on the line in order to rescue them from dire situations. Dealing with combat situations on a day to day basis is hard enough as is.....adding rescue missions to the task really compounds the complexity of survival for our troops.

You're right Clipper, who wants people who want peace in their country??

It has just come out in a U.S. military briefing, that the location of the hostages was obtained from a DETAINEE! The kidnappers were not there when the house was stormed by all of our lads. And the hostages were all bound together.

I already figured they were foreigners, Hon. But there are 2 sides to everything. My point was if we're not in there to make peace, what the heck are we doing there??

It's good to see that we dont abandon people, no matter the reason they are there. The american had already been killed. But we did our part in getting our allies citizens out as well. To me thats honorable.

LOL! Britain kicked our butt all the way up to Yorktown! :wah: It's amazing we are a country at all! But what a country we are! And what a country we came from!
