When I was in my "drinking" yrs. I had numerous opportunities to fall down and I frequently took advantage of them thus providing my shins with cleverly ingrained roadmaps to nowhere.

I have beside my left eye from forceps being used when I was born. A short one on my abdomen where they removed my appendix. And some smalls above my bellybutton from where they removed my gallbladder.

I had a horseback riding incident where one of my horses fell on me while I was riding him. He slipped and fell over while he was at a full canter, we were on a gravel cement driveway. I was wearng cutoff shorts and my mocassins. I still have the scars on my right knee and 2 on my right foot, since I was barefoot. I could never get all of the gravel out. :-1 I wasn't mad at him, he was a good horse.

This is my Daughters leg after an operation last year. When the staples came out too early, the cut widened and the scar is over ¼" wide. The hospital have agreed to do some surgery to improve this but not for a year or two. Not ideal for a young girl

Good horses dont buck you then stomp on you until you look like a gravel driveway.

My son has a scar under his bottom lip which he tells everyone was the result of a horse-riding accident. What he is remiss in revealing is that he was below school age and he was on a Barbie horse and the plastic ear went in deep

She's fine thanks Nomad. We have different views about the scar. She sees it as something boys will find unattractive. I see it as a good result because we thought the bone tumour was malignant

I always seem to be one year early with a particular surgical procedure that now is done laproscopicaly (keyhole), but when I had it required a pretty big incision, like-----left and right knee cartilage repair resulting in four inch scars on both knees. Cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal) resulting in a 8 inch scar below right rib cage. Prostatectomy (prostate removal), resulting in vertical scar of 5 inches from just below the navel to the pubic bone. A Thyroidectomy (removal of thyroid gland), resulting in a barely visible four inch scar 1 1/2 inches below the Adams Apple.

Not many scars. Apart from the one I recently acquired on me bum, I have an inverted L shaped scar on my forehead where I walked into the end of an open and unprotected piece of 4" square metal trunking, and a few broken knuckles. Not forgetting a broken toe from walking barefoot into my toolbox twice.

Adelaide The Rug-Maker

While many ladies do excel

In cooking and in baking,

This lady's claim to fame

Was based on her rug-making.

She really made some lovely rugs,

A skill learned as a child,

Her one-of-a kind, homemade designs

Were volatile and wild.

Her source for patterns no one knew,

But all agreed, as she grew older,

Her schemes grew more unusual,

And her colors grew much bolder.

Intricate pictures sometimes were seen,

In Ms Adelaide's fine rugs,

Open to interpretation,

Each viewer allowed to judge.

Private lady that she was,

She kept her rugs all to herself,

Never once asked for suggestions,

Nor sought another's help.

And through the years, she made a lot,

They were oddly sized and shaped,

Her colors often ran amuck,

And folks were constantly amazed.

Then one day she passed away,

And went to the Pearly Gates,

Probably on a flying rug,

One of her exclusive makes,

When relatives and family came,

Oh my, did they get fooled,

The only thing she left to them

Were her old, rug-making tools.

In vain, they sought her patterns,

They looked for clues to her designs,

They'd be worth a pretty penny,

But they were so hard to find.

Without much luck, they near gave up,

'Til a bright and eager nephew,

Stumbled, at his own surprise,

Upon a most peculiar clue.

Her medical records came to light,

Listing all her operations,

And with each one, a rug was done,

Now, what a revelation!

A tonsillectomy at twenty-three,

Produced two mats that matched,

Small and pink and oval-shaped,

Tonsils? Yes! The family was aghast!

The next rug that they examined

Was shaped quite like a finger,

This caused them to pause in awe,

And they pondered as they lingered.

They checked the medical records,

And they learned, at thirty-three,

Ms Adelaide had undergone,

An appendectomy.

By the detail in this rug,

They found themselves transfixed,

And soon they easily could see

A magnificent appendix.

How wise they were; how smart they felt,

In sorting out these clues,

Adelaide knew her physiology,

And she knew what to do.

Her medical records next disclosed

A gall bladder operation,

How would she handle that,

And maintain her reputation?

They found a multi-colored rug,

That looked like sand and stone,

They easily related it

To a gall bladder - full blown.

A couple of pneumonia bouts

Explained rugs that looked like lungs,

Whitish, pinkish, balloon-like,

Lungs, healthy, whole, and young.

Between bafflement and amusement,

Her relatives were torn,

But Adelaide kept them smiling,

Not feeling too forlorn.

Her last rug - a puzzlement,

With designs they wished were neater,

All that they could figure out

Was a woofer and two tweeters.

The family studied it with care,

What happened to her at fifty-three?

"I know!" claimed one excited niece,

"She had a hysterectomy!"

To close Ms Adelaide's estate,

Her rugs were given to each kin,

Who proudly then displayed the rug,

While broadly smiling from within.

We are not worthy! :yh_worshp

I have a small one on left upper arm, just above the elbow, I was

stretchin' fence whilst my dad was poundin' staples, one of the

crowbars slipped and the barb wire came zinging around and sliced

open a little bit of my arm!! I keloid some so it's bigger than it would have

been... but it's still not bad.

The rest I'm too lazy to enumerate!

1. Left knee. Fell on the corner of a brick garden area at Cedar Point when I was 5.

2. C-section scar.

3. Left index finger from where I nearly shaved the side of my finger off on a slicer in the kitchen I worked at. (Bullet has an identical scar, on the same finger...can you say 'creepy'??)

4. Small scar on my right index finger knuckle from punching a guy in the mouth and his tooth getting embedded in my finger.

5. Long scar beginning on the back of my hand, curving around my wrist from a dog bite. I never again made the mistake of pulling away when a dog got a hold of me.

6. Scar on my left forearm from reaching too far into a pizza oven.

I think that's all. I like 'em all. They add character.

Bullet's trial was a farce. Can I get an AMEN?????

Had one on my forehead since it was stitched when I was 3 and one from a deep cut over my left eye at 10 which these days looks like a wrinkle.

The most unsightly one came from falling off my bike and crushing the end of my finger between the road and handlebar. I dislocated the joint and its been twisted round ever since. Fortunately, now I'm getting on a bit, I'm not so self concious about it as it just looks like I've got arthritis in the joint :o

It's not so bad that I have to be kept away from small children though :D

KarazePapa wrote: I have a scar on my left buttock. I got it because I thought I was snagged on the bushes behind me while fishing but it was my own butt. I got a little hot under the collar and yanked, put a 3 prong hook into my butt. Had to have it removed and stitched up.

I have been jabbed, stabbed, punched and this, as the first year I was a MP.

Right leg, long scar, got bucked off and hit the barbed wire. That smarted. Lower middle back, barely see it but I was kicked by a mule helping my late father in law while he was shoeing the damn thing. I would have to get naked to look for all my scars and I don't think I could really remember how I got them all. :-2
Met a guy once who had been fishing and as he'd cast his line, the hook had snagged into his eyeball and the whipping action had literally pulled his eye out of the socket and left it dangling on his cheek. He lost the eye and I have to say it looked rather unpleasant

Here's mine!

Seriously, I have one on my face. 1 in. on the cheekbone. I got hit by a golf club when I was 11.

Sheesh... that taught me not to play with her clubs....
