Elections...news media revenue generators

Am I the only one who thinks the news media is playing games with this election? They are the only ones who gain from a close race. When the poles show a gap developing they seem to pull in the direction of the lowest number, closing the gap once again.

A tight race means more viewers. A close election could mean a month or more of intense coverage after the election, generating more viewers, listeners, readers and revenue. They win when we lose.

They have a built-in conflict of interests.
Schooling results in matriculation. Education is a process that changes the learner.
