Okay, last summer I did early rug rat testing. It was awesome...great money...hours were total cake! I was planning on doing that this summer as well. They have dissolved the program. They are not doing ECSE testing. I will still get paid during the summer...we get checks for every month. I was really banking on getting that extra cheddar this summer though. So, I could go get a real job...in a hospital and be stressed out...working with swallowing and suctioning out trachs and head injuries...getting my rear grabbed
...or I could get a fun job that pays less. Like working at the greenhouse...wouldn't that be awesome? I just can't not work! I would go crazy! If I had kids to tend to it would be different. So, any suggestions? What should I do? Are there any teachers here that work during the summer? What do you do?

I tried last summer but I couldn't find anyone who wanted to hire me for just a couple of months. Which kind of sucked because I wasn't paid for my off months, but on the other hand I have to wonder if it would have really been worth it anyway, I found other things to do and ways of making myself useful.

Chasing pretty Austrian girls is useful? Or did you mean what you were doing in the meantime?

In the meantime, of course. :p

I suppose useful and fun can't always be the same thing

You can if you hold them for ransom once you catch them.

Are there any employment agencies nearby? I've used employment agencies to find every good job I've ever been hired on to. There is one called Kelly Services. I think they are nationwide. They will test you on a few computer programs and maybe even typing. I tested at 55 wpm for typing, no doubt from all of the posting and typing on all my forums I visit, I have raised my typing skills.
Try several different agencies and let them now you are available every week. The more places you go to, the more chance you have of finding the right job.

Try going to some of your local parks departments....often there are kids summer day camp programs. Maybe you could be a day camp counselor? It can be really fun because you're outside and doing all the fun activities with the kids! (Swimming, tennis, field sports, crafts, hiking...etc...) And getting paid to do it!! lol
