A few questions for my new Ferret
I was wondering if you guys could answer a couple of questions that I have. I just got my new baby girl wedsday shes 2 months old and is their any good way to teach her not to borrow in her food dish and the other is what does it mean when it kind cherps I think its playful cause its when shes out of her cage running around the room. She does it only when she comes up to me and jumps then runs away its really funny I just want to make sure its nothing major she has never bitten me when doing this.

Hi Bemer and Welcome to the Garden.
Now I have to admit I don't really know anything about Ferrets but try this site:

A few questions for my new Ferret
A question for your new ferret:
If you were up Arnolds trouser leg, would you nibble at the nuts?

A few questions for my new Ferret
I babysat 2 ferrets for friends when they went to Chicago. Holy cow are they energetic when awake! Yes, they make a chirp like noise when happy and do run up your pant legs. They love to investigate every nook and cranny. :wah:
The food dish thing....I have no clue how to stop them from doing that. The ones I sat for did the same thing and loved carrying mouthfuls of food to their little dens. Food all over the place, all the time. They loved jumping into the water dish too. And, they poop all the time!!!! Constantly cleaning the litters boxes.
Enjoy your ferret! They are a lot of fun, but work also!

Give up on it staying out of the food dish. The chirping is quite normal. Have you ever owned a ferret before? They require more attention than even a dog, but are one of the most fun pets I have ever owned. When they are out, watch because they are very curious, and have been known to take socks etc. and hide them. Mine all loved getting baths too. Have fun and good luck.

A few questions for my new Ferret
I love ferrets.
I love cuddling them.
That war dance they do, is a happy dance. They want to play.
We had a white panda marked ferret for a while. She brought such joy and laughter to our home. I miss her a lot...............but not all the poop. They poop constantly, it seems (very short intestinal trac).
They are into everything. They steal things too. If it's missing, chances are your ferret found it interesting and carted it off somewheres......
At the time we had her, we had 2 cats and a Rott. Simone, our ferret, ruled the roost. They would be sitting nicely enjoying themselves and she would come running and bounce off their backs so they would play with her. The Rott got real nervous when she was here. One cat use to stalk her..... Every so often the thundering herds would gallop through the house............. Wow, I miss those days
