So after years of appeals and celebrity pleas Stanley Tookie Williams was executed today around midnight California time. His so called "Redemption" did not play well with the "Governator" who refused appeals for clemency. The founder of the Crips stayed true to his story and did not admit the killings for which he was convicted.

Is'nt there likely to be some backlash from the gangs?the police prepared for that eventuality. nothing happened except some protesters, typical at any execution.

This is the way it should be. When you are put on death row, you are to be put down, not saved. It's just to bad that it takes so long. I don't think governors should have any part in this process. If they let a killer get away with murder, they are just as bad as the one doing the killing.
