Do you have children? If so how many and why that many? In other words did you plan them? Is there anyone out there that looks back and wishes maybe they should have had another? Or thinks they had too many?????? We have a decision to make.

2 too many ahahahaha

#1 was an oops came to early

#2 was the birth from Hades.

In conclusion.......... I would never ever ever ever....trade them in for anything :)

I have 2 girls, after Jr. Minks I had my tubes tied, and am happy with what I have, none to many, none to few.

Love em love em.

I have 3 children....all planned

Married in 1966

daughter Sarah born in 1968

son Richard born in 1969

son Mark born in 1972

Never had any regrets...luv'em all very much.

However...i used to wonder if we had stuck at an only child, could we have done better by being able to provide a better aducation etc. but as it happens they have all done really well.

Sarah does accounts although she has no qualifications (she's just been made redundant which is a bit of a b***er as she is a single Mum with a mortgage)

Richard has his own Graphic Design / printing business

Mark is self employed...welding, mechanical stuff on cars. (like his Dad)

yes you do

pairs is good odd numbers is not good, my cousins were 3 kids and one was always left out, picked on, or the brunt of mothers dicipline (my aunt made my cousin walk home one day from the middle of nowhere, I was a kid at the time just barely older than cousin, and I was mortified) hehehe

Even numbers is good.

I have two boys and I wouldn't trade them in for the world.

Both were planned...in a way! I fell pregnant with the first one while on fertility drugs and I was told I would have to have any subsequent children the same way.

Eight months later, while still breastfeeding my son, I was naturally pregnant with the second. I wanted them close, but wasn't prepared to do fertility drugs so soon after each other. We were delighted.

I would have loved a girl, but two was our limit as hubby already had a girl and boy from his previous marriage.

Thanks Minks! I sort of agree with you as I was one of 3...and seems I was the one always left out. Still am really. Then again I am the middle. Don't "they" always say middle children have their "issues"???!!! lol...

Thanks for your positive support in the case we do have another as I think there are some who think there are too many children in this world.

So in essence do you have 4 sometimes? Do the other 2 come to stay? If so, what are the pros and cons of 4???

You are so right Nomad...

the heart warming 'smile'

the thrilling 'first words'

Watch out when they're teenagers though when most of the ATTITUDE comes out of the now 'downturned' mouth....good job this is a temporary 'condition' :D

Awww that is so sweet. So is it really the fear of another miscarriage that keeps you from having any more? Or are there other issues? And I am not asking that you share them unless you feel comfortable. Don't want to be nosy...

My boys have no recollection of them at all! We hoped for a reunion with them this year, but the ex put a spoke in the works again.

I just hope that one day my boys will get to know their brother and sister ....

Children: Your greatest joy, your biggest heartache................

We have 2 daughters.

We married, both for the first time, late in life and then decided we needed 'something more'. So 5 months before I turned 40, our first daughter was born. Then surprise, surprise (to me) our second daughter was born 11 months later.

When you are older, you need to cluster them..................

Two was all I could handle as a full-time working mother (I did not want to stay home) and having had two beautiful and healthy babies already, I did not want anything to interfer with the care and enjoyment of the two daughters we had.

There is a Play on the BBC tomorrow about a woman who has 7 children. 3 daughters and 4 autistic sons. This is a true story that sets out to enchant rather than depress. The mother, Jacqui, is played by Helena Boham Carter. I think it will be an inspirational drama to watch.

I have 1 daughter - very planned. I lost 4 children to ectopic pregnancy. I feel I was given a gift when she came into this world.

My first boy was a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG surprise! I was told by two differend Dr's I'd never be able to conceive a child. I now have two wonderful, and rotten, boys. The hubby and I are trying to conceive a third, trying for that girl. If we do have a girl her name will be Meghan Elizabeth. We are definate on the name, no questions asked. If it's another boy well we'll think of a name for him. As long as it's healthy, I'm fine with it.

Even if it isn't fine, I'm okay with it. All children are special gifts from God. I have a cousin that just had her third child, she's a low life, done drugs and alcohol during the whole pregnancy this time and doesn't have any children at all now, they all got taken away from her due to her drug and alcohol problem. I can't wait to talk to her and find out what the hell she was thinking. Stupid twit, and other words that are not allowed on here :D , is all she is.

One son, 16 years old now. A "whoops" that I am thankful for every single day of my life. The most sensitive, considerate thoughtful kid I know. Bullet has 2 children, a 14 year old girl and a 10 year old boy. That's plenty for us, we won't be having more.

Bullet's trial was a farce. Can I get an AMEN?????

I have a son 18, and a daughter 16. I had my tubes cut and tied after my daughter. Both were planned, but neither pregnancy went smoothly. I couldn't take another 9 months of worry. I also have a 23 year old step daughter who has given me the most beautiful grandson on earth.

Thanks for sharing your families everyone.....now I guess what I am really getting at................................................(do i share)?????

Some of you may know that my daughter has type 1 diabetes which is the result of an auto-immune disorder. She is insulin dependent/takes 3 shots a day and sticks her fingers 6-8 times a day. She is only 3 and there is NO cure. There is some evidence that the blood taken from an umbilical cord of a newborn baby contains stem cells that could someday cure my daughter. At first my husband/I wanted to get pregnant right away/save the cord blood. We realized though that this is NO reason to have a baby.....right??? Just wrong. So we dropped the idea. But it has been almost 2 yrs and the idea is gnawing at me along with really actually wanting another. What are your thoughts on this??? Please nobody attack me, I know this could be controversial....

I have three teenagers

14 and 18 yr boys and a 16 yr old daughter, I'm now 45 and if by some chance I fell pregnant, or fell in love with a man that had no children of his own I would have one more.

If you want another child you should have one or you will always wish you had, It would also be a great waste not to use the babies stem cells from the cord if it could help your child or any one elses.

Everyone, thankyou so much for not judging me! I have been gone most of the day and was almost scared to open this thread in fear of what you might think of me. I have feelings of guilt and then I have feelings of not caring what anybody else thinks. I go back and forth. But reading some of your thoughts put tears in my eyes. Thank you.

When my little girl was diagnosed, the hospital asked me if we had saved her cord blood when she was born. In fact, we did have it collected but had donated it out. They told me to call the blood bank that had it and see if we could retrieve it for private storage as research seems very promising. After calling and some investigating, it was determined that when her collection came in, there was not enough in volume to keep for donor use. It was released to research and stripped of it's identity therefore we could not get it back. So here I am today faced with a decision. I am only getting older....36, so I need to decide soon.

I have completely considered this.......but isn't stopping birth control taking it into my own hands?!! Lets put it this way....if I stopped avoiding pregnancy I would be pregnant yesterday!!!!! Never had a problem in that area. I know EXACTLY what God would do!!!!!!!

OMG! I AM BAWLING!!!!! Far that was so beautiful and meant so much! I have prayed about this issue for a long time and I even think your last comments might have come right from God Himself. Maybe He is working thru you?!!! You are so kind and caring. I appreciate everyone's comments on here! Far, it is so exciting to hear a dad's excitement over the new baby to be. Your family is in my prayers and hope everything goes just as planned for you and wife. You sound like wonderful people.
