Sing with me Kerry Campaign Staffers: "Building a bridge...of love and understanding..." Frankly, I find this embarrassing. Another reason why I am running from Kerry.
Roy Eccleston, Washington correspondent

JOHN Kerry's campaign has warned Australians that the Howard Government's support for the US in Iraq has made them a bigger target for international terrorists.
Diana Kerry, younger sister of the Democrat presidential candidate, told The Weekend Australian that the Bali bombing and the recent attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta clearly showed the danger to Australians had increased.
"Australia has kept faith with the US and we are endangering the Australians now by this wanton disregard for international law and multilateral channels," she said, referring to the invasion of Iraq.

What's the problem, it's true pretending otherwise is sticking your head in the sand. It's also no different from what the British press are saying. If Bush keeps hyping things up to attack Iran you are going to see british support disappear rather rapidly.

There are ways to behave in a campaign. The mud-slinging and sophomoric arguments that Kerry's camp is foisting upon our allies is ridiculous.

She is not saying anything that is not the case or that is not being said elsewhere.

But even a Kerry victory will not automatically end transatlantic disagreements: a survey commissioned jointly by an American and an Italian thinktank showed recently that a growing majority of Europeans seek a more independent role from the US. Some 58 per cent of Europeans said strong US leadership in the world was undesirable, an increase of nine percentage points from a similar poll last year. Only in Britain and the Netherlands do a majority desire strong American leadership. Eighty per cent of the Europeans surveyed did not believe the invasion of Iraq was worth the loss of life and cost. Some 73 per cent of Europeans believe the war increased the risk of terrorism, as do 49 per cent of Americans.

My problem with this is that she is not "The Press". Kerry did finally come out and say that he did support the war. Now he is back-tracking once again. This is what drives me crazy about this guy.
I'm not talking about the rights or wrongs of the U.S.'s involvement in Iraq. I am referring to Kerry's un-ending flip-flopping on every issue. It's all predicated by his staff and their reading of "public sentiment" polls.
It's unfortunately now being distilled down to one easy-bake recipe:
Whatever Bush is doing, Kerry will criticize. It's a cheap and lazy way out. If anyone reading this has some material about what Kerry would do in Iraq, or how he is going to handle the United States' foreign policy, I'd love to read it! Really!
