Hey I just looked up some tickets on Allegiant Air for my sister. I don't know where your mom lives in Illinois but I think Chicago and also Des Moines if she is on our side, has tickets for like 57$! It would be a sweet Christmas early gift!:-4 Have a good one no matter what you do. We do the norm, go out to moms and eat, watch some football and then get into a family argument! LOL

The holidays really get to me, and I'm talking about the commercialisation of course, but in our families it's gotten so that it's about where to go, who is coming, where are we sleeping, who is going to be well enough to attend, who can't eat what, who is going to be ticked about something, etc...so one brother has booked a small inn for some of us to go to. Stay two nights, get turkey dinner, some of us are going, some can't. I am actually looking forward to it! Wow! Wish Christmas would be as easy.

I used to do Thanksgiving out in Illinois (Chicago)... my family all lives out on the East Coast, though... and like last year... I'm gonna' have to traverse across several states... I'll have a huge feast prepared here as well, then fly off to New York and then Connecticut. I only have three dinners to attend this year. :D

I'm cooking the whole big meal-turkey, stuffing, homemade rolls, yams, pumpkin pie, you name it, it will be laying there on the table for consumption!

Well, I work this Thanksgiving so I'll miss the dinner. Normally, we have a big ta-do at my grandparents house. It's been that way for 35 years and always at 1 pm in the afternoon. If you missed out, someone would throw some leftovers together and bring them to ya. They are getting up in years though and I've thought about taking over the tradition since I'm the only other family member with a place big enough for everyone. I'm not completly convinced I want to take that on though.
I probably posted that in an ambien trance-soryy

We wake up/get dressed and get over to my parents ASAP..(dogs and all...).so my kids (3,5 &9) can all watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV w/ grandpa and cousins....all while the kitchen is all in a BUZZ! It is a wonderful day.....then around 4 pm people start arriving. Oodles of relatives of course....and at some point friends too stop by just to have a night cap or slice of pie!! Also there will be a few cherished friends who either no longer have family or can't be w/ them and have found my family to be "home"....it is such a wonderful time. It is a large house...each room will be full...my husband playing the piano for everyone in the living room and the bar going full swing! Tons of food, kids/dogs running everywhere....air hockey and pool table in basement.... I want to say...well if you've nowhere to go....come to my moms!!! LOL

My wife and I will be sailing on the "Windstar" on Thanksgiving and be somewhere between Bonaire and the Panama Canal.
