Try hitting the NUM LOCK key then the HOME key on the number pad. Don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a try.

You have to disengage (turn off) the NUM LOCK before your HOME key will work, Odie.

You might mention to her that the ForumGarden window has to have focus before the key will have the desired effect. Some people you can't make assumptions about.

When Andy showed up I decided I couldn't be arsed so I put him on ignore. While I was there I decided to clean the crud off my screen by adding Odie and Oscar to the list. I'm sufficiently experienced with the ignore system to know not to open any posts once I've done it.

I find it amusing that some here who have penned such opinions on Oscar seem unable to forget her even months after her departure when other ex members are forgotten in a trice. As i challenged you recently, why don't you pop over to 24forum and post to her direct or even better as you seem to have to refer to her every once in a while, why don't i send the venue details for a bnp meeting she'll be at thursday near to where you live and you can express your remarks to her face to face? If you come out alive, i'll buy you an ice cream. That's sounds fair to me but you won't will you Spot because like Flopstock you'll post backhanded comments purely because you know she won't be able to come onto forum garden and tear your face off. Cowardly pathetic behaviour that may impress the newer members but those with half a brain have had you on ignore long before you even found the function key. From Spot's tone, it would seem he thinks Australian Forum Gardeners are either too stupid or too uninformed to be aware of the lunar eclipse, and that if they are aware of it, they'd need his jollying along to make the effort to go and view it. He is mistaken.

That's a slightly unkind interpretation, I'd only just found out about the eclipse five minutes before and to the best of my knowledge nobody on FG had mentioned it. Neither stupid nor uninformed came into my post even by implication, it was purely chatty and invited dialogue. I regret having attracted your ire but I certainly wasn't demeaning.

I can well imagine that your total lunar eclipse figured prominently in Australian news broadcasts. It was a minor out-of-the-way article in the UK though.

Peter, I like your gentle nature. I didn't interact much with Oscar because, though we shared many of the same views, I usually missed her sarcasm as a joke until it was too late to appreciate. So after awhile I quit reading her posts to avoid the frustration.

What I don't get is why you hang around, especially if it's been for months as I infer. Are you defending her in hopes that you'll win? Is it important that her ban be lifted? Really? Would she return if it were, and would it be to frolic or fight?

Sure, I complained before I left, but then I left when I didn't get satisfaction. If I find the environment hasn't changed, I'll leave again. I really don't understand why someone would return again and again only to fight for the sake of winning the fight, though I've seen it happen several times and usually by people nowhere nearly as nice as you are.

If she's more welcome at 24, be satisfied with that. I'm sure you'd both be welcome at the forum I found when I left here, as well.

I don't apologize for telling you to shut up. You made the same points repeatedly and it has become tiresome. I do, however, want you to know I have no animosity for you or Oscar, for what that's worth to you.

Then let me explain my position here to you but please understand i seek and want no sympathy.

I'm much older than Oscar who has a full and varied life but i'm retired. Four years ago i was lucky to survive advanced cancer when i was given less than a year. Thanks to our wonderful health service i had extreme surgery and my life was saved. I now have a terminal lung condition and although i have medication, my days fishing are finished as i'm unable to walk far let alone get down the banks. If i was in full health, i'd be on the river every day but now i'm mostly at home due to the problems of my illness. I have many long hours to fill at home while Oscar is out staring at horses so i pop in here from time to time as i do 24forum and my fishing forums. During Oscars time here we both made many good friends who she's still in touch with via e mail or facebook but i like to think they're also my friends and i like to come here to post with them. I really took stock of my life four years ago and now this time around given i may have a year if i'm lucky, i prioritise people in my life and rapidly discard those who are likely to cause me any stress and live each day as if it's my last. I've also learned to never judge people from behind a screen or look for motives for their input. From the comments made on this thread, there's the few that make the assumption that Oscar can't wait to get back here and there lies the danger of assuming you know someone online.

Then I recommend that you rapidly discard this thread as likely to cause you stress and enjoy your friends here. I also wish you had a dock extending from your back door into a well-stocked lake, but that's for dreams.
