I can't lead everyone to Christ, but if I can lead a few to Him, then that would be wonderful.

How do you feel about the possibility that you deter far more from approaching Jesus than you ever lead? Because that, quite seriously, is why I'm so angry with you. You make an inane mockery of something I find precious.

xfrodobagginsx, would you tell me why you chose xfrodobagginsx as your username? The reason I ask is because Frodo Baggins is a well known but fictional character with no Christian connections that I know of.

You're not sharing the good news at all. You're arriving on new forums all over the Internet and the first thing you do, your first post to total strangers, is to shout as loudly as you can that no Muslim will go to Heaven because Muslims refuse to accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God and their personal Saviour, that no Hindu will go to Heaven, that no Buddhist will go to Heaven, that no agnostic will go to Heaven, that no Satanist will go to Heaven, that no Witch will go to Heaven, that no Gnostic will go to Heaven, that the Lord God in his infinite wisdom will consign the majority of souls to eternal torment while loving the small minority who paid attention to his holy evangelists and prayed the magic prayer.

That I can tolerate. What I can't stomach is that you have the gall to call what you do Christian.

I'm sorry to hear this. Jesus said to give all our burdens to him. Perhaps you should do the same.

I'm not sorry. It's a blessing and an honor to serve the Lord. I do cast my burdens upon Him, but that doesn't mean to stop serving.

To prove what? That accepting Jesus Christ removes the fear of going to hell using evidence that is acceptable in a court of law?

EASY.

Testimony. Any born again believer will tell you that when they accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts as Lord and Savior, that burden was lifted from them.

Don't beleive in God, Heaven or Hell. Earthly Life came into egsistance purely by the accidental combinaiton of elements, electricity and some kind of virus from space. I heard this via the grapevine in my back yard so I know it's the absolut truth.:wah: Sorry, I just couldn't resist a bit of humor.

That's not evidence, that's propaganda and hearsay. While hearsay can be evidence, it requires corroboration from other sources.

EASY you said? I want see evidence a court would accept - this includes witness statments, forensics and material evidence.

First of all, there is pleanty of other evidence. Secondly, testimony IS evidence that is admissable in a court of law, since they use it every day in them and base cases on them.

How To Get To Heaven When You Die

The bible was written by God through 40 men in 3 languages over a 1,500 year period. These men lived in different parts of the world, some were rich, some were poor, some were educated, some were not, most didn't know each other, nor did they have access to the other's writings and yet it fits together as if it were written by one person. It was written by God. It has no errors or contradictions. It is the Word of God. The bible is accurate in matters of Science, History, and all matters of life.

There are countless prophecies which have been predicted and fulfilled perfectly in scripture. Many of these prophecies were written hundreds or even thousands of years before they were fulfilled.

Old Testament Prophecies

Fulfilled by Jesus Christ, Messiah

ALL of these prophesies were made hundreds, sometimes

thousands, of years before Jesus Christ was born. Looking in the face of

how He literally fulfilled them all (plus hundreds more), it is an

impossibility that He is not Messiah, Saviour of the world. The ONLY

person...past, present or future...who could fulfill all these prophecies is

Jesus Christ. See His genealogy starting from faithful Abraham.

It's an irrelevance. What matters here is that you're putting far more people off exploring Christianity than you're conning into it. You should be thoroughly ashamed of your behaviour here.

How To Get To Heaven When You Die

[QUOTE=xfrodobagginsx;1127620]The bible was written by God through 40 men in 3 languages over a 1,500 year period.

Hello there. It is very plain to see that you take the bible very seriously. You have certainly gone to a lot of work typing in all those scriptures. But I have a problem that you may be able to explain to me. There is a scripture that appears somewhat contradictory to almost the entire first part of the Old Testament. I have asked others about it and they start to muddle around and try to rationalize that it means this or means that, but basically they have lost focus and are simply trying to get out of answering it clearly.

Now you appear to take the scriptures very literally. You take each scripture for what it is and don't try to make something else out of it. So would you please explain Jeremiah 7: 21-23. In the KJV it states;

21 - Thus saith the lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices and eat flesh.

22 -For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices

23- But this thing commanded I them, saying. Obey my voice, and I will be your God and ye shall be my people and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you that it may be well unto you

You see the problem that I am having here? Jeremiah is the 24th book of the bible. The first section of the bible, Leviticus through to Deuteronomy, is full of commandments from god concerning sacrifices for this and for that. Goodness, the first thing Noah did when he left the ark was to make a sacrifice to God. Since he was such a good friend of gods he would have known if it was right or wrong wouldn't he? Now, Jeremiah states that god told him that he never said anything about sacrifice to the Israelites. If this is true then who did give those commandments? We know that we don't want to think that God is lying. It would be terrible to believe that one of the foremost prophets was lying because many of the prophecies come out of the book of Jeremiah. Yet that is what it states very clearly.

Now, if we were to say that this scripture relates to something entirely different in some other part of the bible then we could say that about all scriptures throughout the entire book.

I sure would appreciate if you can explain this to me and not try to fudge it like others do. If you answer this one I sure would like your help with others.

You see the problem that I am having here? Jeremiah is the 24th book of the bible. The first section of the bible, Leviticus through to Deuteronomy, is full of commandments from god concerning sacrifices for this and for that.

He said that He didn't speak unto them on the exact day that He brought them out of Egypt. He didn't say that He never commanded them. He just told them to obey Him and He would be their God and they would be my people. When He got them out of Egypt, they were at Mt. Sinai and at THAT time God gave moses the commandments and began to give the law.

Goodness, the first thing Noah did when he left the ark was to make a sacrifice to God.

Before the law of moses, they DID still offer sacrifice unto the Lord, but they didn't have the mosaic law at that time.

Since he was such a good friend of gods he would have known if it was right or wrong wouldn't he?

Before Moses, man lived under a different covenant with God.

Now, Jeremiah states that god told him that he never said anything about sacrifice to the Israelites. If this is true then who did give those commandments?

That's NOT what God said. He said that He didn't command them in the DAY that He brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. Later, He did command them.

We know that we don't want to think that God is lying. It would be terrible to believe that one of the foremost prophets was lying because many of the prophecies come out of the book of Jeremiah. Yet that is what it states very clearly.

You are missing the key word in the DAY.

Now, if we were to say that this scripture relates to something entirely different in some other part of the bible then we could say that about all scriptures throughout the entire book.

I sure would appreciate if you can explain this to me and not try to fudge it like others do. If you answer this one I sure would like your help with others.

My response is in bold above. You must read carefully when interpreting passages. God wanted them to trust Him FIRST before He would go through the trouble of giving them the law.

For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices

23- But this thing commanded I them, saying. Obey my voice, and I will be your God and ye shall be my people and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you that it may be well unto you

23- But this thing commanded I them, saying. Obey my voice, and I will be your God and ye shall be my people and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you that it may be well unto you
______________________

I'm disappointed in your reply. Your 'fudging' like everyone else does that can't answer this question. You know very well that when the scriptures speak of 'that day' or 'in that day' that it is not referring to a 24 hour day. If you really know your bible then you also know that the exodus took place long before the books of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy that contain the laws of sacrifice etc. If you don't know the answer then say you don't know it.

But we don't want you leaving here totally ashamed so I will give you one more chance to be honest. If you try fudging this one also then you will be stating quite clearly that you don't know your bible at all and are simply regurgitating odd bits and pieces you have picked up somewhere. Ok, here it is.

In the book of Genesis we are told that the serpent is an evil creature that temped Eve in the garden, again in Psalms 140:3, and basically throughout the rest of the bible right into Revelations 12:7-9 where Michael and his angels fight with Satan the great serpent and casts him out of heaven. The serpent is a vile creature that appears to oppose god and man. Yet in Numbers 21: 6-9 when serpents are biting and killing the people as they walked in the desert god tells them to erect a 'serpent of brass' and anyone that looks on it will be healed. So now god is directing the people to the serpent for a 'healing'. Now my question is why did god use a serpent as a symbol of healing, why didn't he use a lamb since that is what Jesus was to symbolize? Surely god would know that at any future time that the people needed a healing from some illness they would turn to the serpent that symbolized gods enemy and not to the lamb that symbolized his son.

Don't try 'fudging' this one or I won't give you any more chances.

How To Get To Heaven When You Die

The Christian faith is fragmented. Whatever the meanings of the scriptures or the Bible, the original meanings have clearly been lost. Today, there are so many Christian denominations and these represent the different interpretations of the Bible. Even within the Jewish comunities, there are different versions of the Torah. Each and every denomination, or individual, is adamant that their interpretation is the absolutely correct one. There are even different versions of the Bible.

No one can say any more than 'this is what they think it means'. Their terms can be no more absolute than this. If there is proof and evidence of the true meanings of the various statements that are open to interpretation in the Bible, then they are well and truly hidden. Anyone who says that this is the absolutely true meaning has their head up where the sun will never shine.

It is these feelings of individual/group righteousness and misguided assurance that is responsible for many problems that we have on the planet. However OM, there is a certain psychology in play with the feelings of superiority. All religions stem from the same root, the same core if you prefer. But this then puts all believers into the same brown sack. Once this is realized there is no longer the misconceived basis on which to maintain any kind of superiority. Imagine what would happen if within a 24 hour period all Muslims, Jews, Christians, Pagans etc., found out that they all essentially believed the same thing with only minor differences separating them. Can you even imagine such an enlightened world?

That's unsubstatiated rubbish. I don't have to be british to know that. The bible has been preserved. The dead sea scrolls are PROOF that they have been.

Today, there are so many Christian denominations and these represent the different interpretations of the Bible.

Different interpretations of the bible have nothing to do with the manuscripts.

Even within the Jewish comunities, there are different versions of the Torah. Each and every denomination, or individual, is adamant that their interpretation is the absolutely correct one. There are even different versions of the Bible.

The "versions" of the bible are merely translations. Some cults like JW use perverted translations in order to change crucial doctrine.

No one can say any more than 'this is what they think it means'. Their terms can be no more absolute than this.

While there are passages that are left open to interpretation, there are many which are not. The ones pertaining to salvation are pretty clear cut, that it is by faith alone in Jesus Christ. That's the most important issue either.

If there is proof and evidence of the true meanings of the various statements that are open to interpretation in the Bible, then they are well and truly hidden.

Rubbish. You can study the meanings of problem passages by comparing with the rest of the bible.

Anyone who says that this is the absolutely true meaning has their head up where the sun will never shine.

In most places you can absolutely know the truth, although in some places God hides the truth until the appointed time. All in all, it's still the word of God and must be interpreted via the Holy Spirit and studied within context.

My response in bold above.

The first thing you must do is accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and become "born again" and recieve the Holy Spirit.

1Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

If you believe that this is proof, then clearly you'll believe whatever suits you. The Dead Sea scrolls are not in the Bible and only prove that a great deal is missing. The Bible does not contain all the manuscripts that were available at the time. The Dead Sea scrolls were only found in the last last century.

Different interpretations of the bible have nothing to do with the manuscripts. They are nonetheless interpretations thereof since the Bible is based on the original manuscripts.

That's the most important issue either. I might be wrong, but I believe Jesus Christ only provided a doorway to heaven and salvation. As I recall, faith in God is required as per the two great commandments of Jesus.

All claim to having been inspired by the Holy Spirit, including the Jehovah's Witnesses.

I admit that mis TRANSLATIONS occur, but the word of God has been preserved in the manuscripts. A translation is subject to error. The originals are perfect and inspired.

Who now reads the original - how many of us read ancient Greek or Hebrew?

All of our current texts upon which we base our faith includes these mis-translations.

Now that's not true. The translations and mistranslations come from translating the existing texts.

Would you run that one past me again?

Are you saying that there were no mistranslations whatsoever going from the ancient Greek and Hebrew originals to, for example, the King James Version which many of us use and that the only mis-translations are from the standard English texts to other translations?

Or maybe you're saying that I'm incorrect in assuming that few people read the original Greek and Hebrew texts?

No I agreed that those types do occur, however, you can compare to the ancient Greek and Hebrew texts to get the preserved word of God.

Or maybe you're saying that I'm incorrect in assuming that few people read the original Greek and Hebrew texts?

There are simple programs that you can get for your computer and there are books that make it quite easy to compare.

I'll ask again - how many do?

The vast majority of Christian thought and Christian perception is based on English translations of the Bible - the KJV or its successors. Ask anyone for a Biblical quote and they will quote directly from that source.

Where does most Christians basic faith originate? From the English translations, complete with those mis-translations.

We've not even started on copy errors in the "original" texts that you claim as "pure".

How many do what?

Although the KJV is a very accurate and reliable translation, it's not perfectly free of error due to the translation process.

Where does most Christians basic faith originate? From the English translations, complete with those mis-translations.

Most translations are accurate enough to convey the truth, even though the translations are perfect. There ARE perverted translations, meant to decieve. The Jehovah's Witness bible is one of those translations which are perverted to decieve. Which is why we compare it to the greek, hebrew. Strong's makes a good dictionary.

We've not even started on copy errors in the "original" texts that you claim as "pure".

That's easy as well. Less than 5% of all of the thousands of manuscripts deviate from the rest. All you have to do is compare the existing manuscripts to each other. Secondly, the dead sea scrolls prove that the bible has been preserved. They pre-dated the oldest existing manuscripts by 1500 years, yet when compared they were virtually IDENTICAL.

No, because you're going round a succession of forums posting the same stuff to each. It's not discussion, it's fly-posting. Just google [xfrodobagginsx accept jesus] for confirmation - the same thread with the same fundamentalist claptrap all over the internet. It's graffiti. You should be ashamed of the extent to which you're creating such a distaste for Christianity. Cursed be he that makes the blind wander out of the way.

Jesus said "Go ye into all the WORLD and preach the gospel to every creature" and that's what I'm doing.

I doubt whether he existed at all. It's a story. If he did exist I'm completely certain he never said any such thing.

That's the trouble with you literalists.

The world will be a cleaner place when you're all extinct. Christianity's a perfectly good religion if it weren't for the fundamentalist fools it attracts.

This is a new use of the word "need" which I've never encountered before. It's like reading "you need a psychosis".

Who said this?

Joh 3:36 "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

1Jo 5:12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
