Computers have changed my life big-time, especially with emails to family and friends, the jokes passed back and forth.
They are just remarkable for work, instead of the old typewriters, especially the ones that you could not erase a mistake.................meaning you had to do the whole thing over!
ebay............wow, that is fun!
if I am not sure of something, google is always there for me!
I buy now 90% of Christmas shopping on-line, most places are free delivery...................and that is a bonus to me, I hate the stores!
I don`t do by bills on-line, prefer to do those by phone.
and of course forums have kept me going now for 3 years, this one being tops to any others................I am on here alot, its just so much fun and have met so many wonderful people, and great when you need to vent!

It has changed everything; in the last place I worked the ground floor was where all the typists use to be 25 years ago, 20 of them just typing up letters, documents whatever.
Bosses would call in their secretaries to take notes and then the secretaries would go type everything up. Bosses never needed spell check as they never wrote anything.
Memos went around offices in triplicate copies and carbon paper was the greatest thing.
Companies would be hired to put together company presentations using photographic slides for things that can now be done in 30 minutes using Powerpoint.
A team of financial & mathematical specialists would be needed to do what Excel can do in an hour.
Kids are growing up completely different with, never mind mobile phones, now it is with kids Blackberrys.
Where the vision of technology was seen to increase people leisure time emails now come by the hundreds and people expect instant replies. They don’t pick up the phone anymore, they say ‘didn’t you get me email? I had return receipt on it, I am sure it said that it was opened...’
But, with all that it is fantastic and I love it. Smaller, faster, more, connected.
I am a slave to the system.:yh_monkey

its computers that are helping me find a job, I am on 15 different sites each morning, takes around 3 hours, possible more for emailing and faxing resumes.
AND thank god for fax machines!
and my all- in- one printer for printing them out!
I well remember typing out my resume on my old typewriter, going to the store to get photo copies years ago and going on foot to apply!
