Dear Snooze, Grace under pressure is a rare gift. I think you just have to make a judgement based on your experience. I think that your bluntness and honesty are what attracts people to you, but then some people can use that as a basis for making unappropriate comments. But I wouldn't have you any way. :)

No it isn't just you. I've been attacked sooo many times. I can remember a very very strange guy online many years ago. He emailed me because he saw my old website and wanted me to go work for him as a web designer for a small business he just started. I said no and then he sent me this really long email about how wealthy he is, incuding his home phone number and his home address. So when I again told him I'm not interested in working for him, he sent me this vitriolic email ripping me to shreds and saying that he is coming after me. It was very very aggressive and totally insane. He even "critiqued" my website saying how much he hated it, when only hours before he was saying how much he liked it. I can remember in one part of his email he wrote that I "cannot deal with rejection very well". When it was only me rejecting his offer to work for him. So of course I was so shocked. And I called him at his home number and his mother answered. This was surprising too, as he'd told me he owned his own home, several cars, a boat and other such nonsense. I told her my name and asked her to ask her son to please stop attacking me. Then I emailed him saying I was going to the police station with his phone number and address and reporting him. He changed his email address that day, and left me a message on my home phone saying he can't believe I'd called him at home, and some other strange confusing things. I have the feeling that he thought I was a younger woman in her 20's, as that was the way my website looked at that time. I'd just learned HTML and was pretty much using my old site as a way to learn it.:-2

When I was a lot younger my boyfriend and I went to a goup camping thing and I met some bloke who didn't stick in my mind at all but we were all chatting about life and what we all did for a living and stuff like that.

Few days later I got a letter from him sent to my work saying he wanted to go out with me. Then I saw him outside my work and I got more letters. It completely freaked me out so in the end my boyfriend posted his letters back to him unopened and asked him not to contact me anymore. It never got to the point that I was scared of him but I certainly felt very wary for quite a while.

What that bloke did to you must have scared you a lot, by comparison to my experience was no where near as bad but I remember how vulnerable it made me feel to this day.

I wasn't scared, but really mad. It was because he was threatening me. And I didn't like that.

I used to frequent a forum called Egyptmad.com. I actually had phone conversations with a guy I met on the forum after we exchanged numbers. But he stopped calling. Then months later a lot of people turned on me and there was an older Egyptian wealthy woman who owned beautiful ARabian horses and all of that. She actually wrote on that forum that she was going to "kill me". It was like it was just a normal thing in her culture to say that you will "kill" someone. Like it was an every day occurence. I was very angry about that and wrote to the owner of the forum, who lives in London and told him I may take this info to the authorities here along with his name. But I thought it was a huge waste of time. Instead I emailed her and told her that while it may be normal in her culture to "KILL" people, and threaten to KILL people, that it is actually illegal here, even to threaten someone with that, one can be arrested. And that that is a huge difference in the way she was used to living and how I am used to living. STRANGE! :-5

it got a low C. I used your paragraph, but didn't cite my sources, because I was a afraid the teacher would say "who is Galbally"? So she placed little notes at the end of each paragraph asking for sources cited. I did type a bibliography at the end. But didn't use any quotes from those. Just a quote from the Darwin looong novel. And I have another one coming up this Monday. But I don't know what the essay question will be yet.

All we've been doing is reading and listening to lecture about chimps, apes, bonobos and it's boooring. :-5

I'll have to try harder next time to do a better paragraph. Well at least you passed.

Yes, we are now studying about the apes and what used to be our ancestors. And the anthropoligist have constructed pictures from only the skulls of the prehistoric monkeys and what look like a lizard/monkey/cat kind of animals. They have weird names and lived literally millions of years ago. There were eras or epochs that we need to know about and what kind of monkey/ape/lizard animals lives in each era. And what is even more confusing is that some evolved in Africa, some in India and some in North American or what is called the New World. Also some in Asia.

So after the test this Monday night, we all take home our essay question. I'll come here after class and post my question for you. For all of you.:-3
