Well, I did have a lamb stew with Soda Bread for lunch, along with a Pint of Guinness.

Interesting how a fine Jewish meal became an Irish meal.

I never eat CB on St Paddy's day.

My Great Grandfather would come back from the dead and flay me for it.

:) That pint of Guiness exonerates you LM. Why would Great grand daddy not want you to eat corned beef? If you called it brisket would that make a difference?

In 18th and 19th centuries, The English Masters used the farmland of Eire to raise beef to be butchered, preserved and shipped to English tables.

Beef was not on the tables of the Irish, lest it was ol' Bessie, no longer able to calve and give milk.

What the Irish ate was gammon or bacon corned in the same manner as the beef, but much less expensive.

When the Irish immigrated to the Americas, and lived in the cities, they found ham and bacon to be a more rare commodity, but they found Corned Brisket in the Jewish Community to be close enough to make do, and relatively affordable.

Great Granddad saw beef as a symbol of the the English oppression and all that had happened to drive his family from home.

He never ate beef in his life.

Most of the rest of the family, at least the last few generations, has included beef in our diet, (There's more Scots and other types in the family, now) but in deference to Great Granddad we make a point to abstain from it on St Paddy's day.

So should you Really want to celebrate being Irish, you should think of something beside Corned Beef for your St Paddy's Day feast.

Boudin Blanc,

Chicken and sausage gumbo, served over Basmati Rice.

Pralines for desert.

Was out of Andouille, so we used some local-made stuff that is kind of a spicy German sausage.

Not too shabby.

Gotta make a run to LA, again, to load up on Andouille and Boudin.

Oh, oh----------------Way too much chicken in your diet Nomad. Excessive consumption of poultry, particularly chicken can cause atrophy of the cerebral cortex and testicular irritation, not to mention that you could experience moments of mental fatigue and disorientation. However, if you drink 36 oz. of Murphy's Gingerale along with the chicken it could negate any negative imbalances in your digestive system.

uh oh

I checked it out and I found this.

Is it true that eating too much Chicken can turn you homosexual?

I heard my friends talking about this and I was wondering is it true?

id say yes indeed ther was an expose film i watched not to long ago about the levels of female hormones they use to make chickens plumper. so boys eating lots of chicken are getting a lil doses of estrogen'ss with every bite they take so as the boy become more fem then their attraction to a male would seem logical
