I just did without the pc for a month and we had a membership at the local library where they have broadband. You have to pay a fee between $10/15.00 a week to use it. The place is always packed with young students doing their work, etc.

The place is always packed with young students doing their work, etc.Well I managed without a pc as a kid and so did everyone of a certain generation and I tell you somefing else....people cant believe how I can add up in my head the way I do.....long lists of figures.....I go in a shop and buy 2 items and the young wally behind the counter has to use his calculator to add it up fgs.....all done on a machine now and not real brain work.:sneaky::rolleyes:

Oh yes Carol, I believe you are a whiz at math. Ever notice all the fast food places, etc. all have the cash register to "help" them do math. Duh. My son who has probs with math is doing fantastic this year so far with it. Brought home a 90 the other day.:-4 Quin also has to do his math facts every afternoon after school. Drilling it in.

I remember the days when you actually have to count back your change from a cash register..............loved those days!

not only your opinion carol,

far better making sure the elderly can keep warm this winter with the cost of heating etc beyond reach of many of them !!!
