I heard today on BBC news that America's government are going to have to ask their citizens for 46bn dollers of help. Whoops, what are you doing about that Obama? How exactly are you going to "Change" the economic climate?:-1

He's not even in power yet - it's the Republicans that are asking for the money :wah:

I do not understand what you are saying here. Previously you appeared to be blaming Obama for the crash and the problems brought about by the Republicans - why does pointing this out mean I know nothing about economics (I work in the UK banking industry and see the group chief economist's review of the world situation on a weekly basis).

Your opinions appear to have little basis in the real world - more alligned to the Sun and the News of the World.

My point of Obama in my posts Bryn has been to ask the question "What is Obama doing about the economy?" Not actually blaming him for it. I ask the same question every time & get no sensible reply from his supporters. In this country, we have heard all the Obama speeches about "We are the one's we have been waiting for" "Change" blah blah blah. I asked previously, what about peoples power being cut off, jobs axed etc. I ask, because all we have heard is the "Heal the world, new messiah" tripe. All i see is a weak vain man spending other peoples money living the "Michael Jackson" tinsletown lifestyle. Where are his real politics? What is this change he drones on about? I can't find it. His speeches are changed to suit & please everyone. He showed weakness at the first sign of a conflict. When Russia went into Georgia. He seems to be more inclined to be the new Martin Luther King than actually care about his country's economic collapse. When he's spent more money & America is being threatened by Russia, where will he be? As i've said before, umming & Aarring. If he has plans for the economic recovery of America & the effect that has on the u.k., why have we not heard it. You are not the only one in banking. You may have more knowledge than i bryn & i apologise if i was rude before, but you do not have carte blanch on opinion of the british public. I do not read The news of the world but i do read a broad range of papers when i get the time. From here, they are all backing McCain. Wonder why? They see through the false phrophets bulls--t the same as most do.

Since Obama is not actually in power there is not a great deal he can do about the economy. On the other hand you can lay much of the present turmoil on right wing economic theory that believed if you just trusted the money men they would behave responsibly, become really rich and everybody would benefit from the crumbs dropping from their table. Economic fundamentalism for the mentally retarded. It's like the theory you can trust a politician-The basic premise is badly flawed. How you think McCain and let's do more of the same is the best option I leave you to worry about.

Typical British Labour party. Scanned today's papers & after the weeks reporting, Labour, your all a bunch of spineless back stabbing twats. Sack him or back him but you haven't got the guts have you? Another John Major moment in a typical day in our useless government. Now, i hope Golden Brown walks leaving you gutless lot to it. If Obama gets in, you all deserve each other. How about a 51st state McCain? The Not Great Britain.

Bush and McCain are like the leaders of a pack of lemmings. One (bush) has already taken everybody off the cliff now everybody is looking at McCain saying he is a strong leader and has much experience in jumping off cliffs so must know what he is doing- let's follow him. That new guy wants to change direction and he's a funny colour, let's ignore him.

At this point only a complete half wit would still think the economic and foreign policy of the Bush administration has been an unqualified success. Not that I'm suggesting you're a complete half wit of course, you are after all a daily mail reader.

And you think tory boy cameron will be any better? Thatcher was the one that de-regulated the financial institutions in this country also with the demented idea that if you make the rich richer they spend more and we all benefit. She's also the one that is on record that we can survive as a service economy and the destruction of our industrial base didn't matter. So instead of investing the money from north sea il she gave tax breaks to people who didn't need them and gave away the rest to all those on the dole. Course back then the daily mail was a tory rag.

A plague on all their houses.

A plague on all their houses. I did spell Camoron Ca"moron" in my post gmc. If you look! That sums up what i think of him as well. I agree with what you say. Your spot on about Thatcher but in my half wit opinion (and your probably right there) she was strong & determined. Golden Brown, Harriot Harman, Jack Straw, Ca"Moron", etc, Obama & Biden-- They are all as bad as each other. I am just hoping that somewhere in McCains military mind & years of experience, there may be hope. I don't trust Biden if he has to resort to stealing speeches from Kinnock. I was a fully paid up member of the labour party for yrs. I subscribed money that i could ill afford because i believed in Blair, so you are right, i am a half wit. I have not joined another party as yet because i am at a loss with the lot of them frankly. As i am a half wit, help me out here gmc?? I was contacted by the orange party---Your views please? p.s. gmc, i'm a funny colour as well!!

There's a new species of ant been found in the Brazilian rain forest. It's in the Daily Mail readers. Apparently, it's blind, very pale & has a large lower jaw. Blunkett. It's along with the pic of the father who was beaten to a pulp by two 16 yr olds. The one who stamped on his head while he lay unconsious on the pavement & broke his eye sockets, nose, jaw etc, got a whole 4 yrs in prison. Another day in broken Britain. That's why some of us look to America. That piece of garbage would have done 25 at least in Arizona etc. Our police & law courts are a joke. Thugs paradise. What did this man do to deserve that? He asked them to stop urinating on a car.

R.U.Seerius:yh_rotfl Absolutely Brilliant!! That has made my day. My one day off that is. I was only wondering what had happened to them the other day after Lord Sutch topped himself. I did wonder if the orange party was those shaven headed guys wearing orange robes, tinkling bells but it looks like i must google tonight before i answer their e mails. When i broke my wrist, i did ask the doc if i could play the flute now. He said, certainly. Good, cos i never could before.:wah:

We were at a 4 Trillion dollar debt when Clinton was elected only for him to completely turn the economy around and give us a $400 Billion surplus...

after having had Bush in Office our debt stands at roughly 10 Trillion dollar in debt and a mere $50 Billion surplus if I'm not mistaken...

Remind me again how it is McCain is exactly leading the polls again please?...Anyone?...

Bush had the gaul to ask american citizens to donate money to the people of Texas who were devastated by the hurricane Ike. If he had not given the Russian country Georgia 1 billion dollars to rebuild their country, we would of had money for those people. i'm afraid I lost it when I read what he had did.:-5

I agree that women are more merciful, if a lady becomes the president, the wars might end.

Imagine that if all countries leaders are female, there woundn't have wars, is that right?>..:-3

When the early Jesuit fathers preached to Hurons and Choctaws,

They prayed to be delivered from the vengeance of the squaws -

'Twas the women, not the warriors, turned those stark enthusiasts pale -

For the female of the species is more deadly than the male.
