hooo haw I adopted a new member of my work family, a brand new very pretty plant. No idea what it is, starts out with pale pink leaves, that slowly turn green kinda cool. One of my co-workers handed it over to me today. Wish me well in keeping it alive GULP!

Is that a loaded question? HAH!

the leaves are in the shape of gosh dragons tongues kinda. Stems start out green then as they get older look woodie. Does that help. No water at the base of the leaves.

If the topmost leaves are bright pink, I believe you're supposed to water it from the top, letting the water stand at the base of the leaves. Of course, a pic would help, but somebody at work could tell you better than I.

I sometimes dream that I can fly planes and I could fix one if it had a flat tire (I think). I'm 165 mile from Bend. I've managed a couple of small airports, an Air Force runway in remote Alaska and I once had a conversation with Dick Rutan. That's as close to aviation as I've been.

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.
