Well said that man!! SPC, if you did what this guy says, you would have actually read way back that I said China is not all bad. I was offering you some grace there but you are so intent on hating America, you are not even reading the posts let alone thinking before you type.

Going back to the original post by Red Glitter, can i please ask everyone to be alert this christmas when buying fur toys. We have proof that toys that have turned up in the past are indeed cat & dog fur. If you are in any doubt--please don't buy however cute that fluffy toy is. If we all boycott these fluffy toys, China may be forced out of the market & we can put a stop to this barbaric trade. Thanks:)

I dont buy toys from China. They put lead in them.

Well I can't exactly say I blame them for eating cats and dogs but the live skinning is a bit unnecessary as far as I'm concerned...

I like dogs. I dont like to eat them or wear them. I do understand different cultures eating different animals, but maybe a more humane way to kill them is in order. Sorry, RG, I eat meat so I cant exactly preach about NOT killling animals for food. But skinning them alive is poretty heinous. And I do wear leather. So again, I cant be a hypocrite. I dont wear fur because I think its ugly.

Previously, when these toys have come to light, it is the skin that is looked at first. If anyone has pets, they will just know the difference between synthetic nylon often used in toys & real skin. Most toy hair is also nylon. Real fur will feel denser to the touch. Got to admit, it's hard. Our Trading standards people seized a ship load i believe two yrs ago & they did the tests. I just don't buy anything i am slightly suspicious of. If the toy is cheap, it will be imported. It doesn't hurt to ask the owner of the shop who his supplier is when buying. Avoid all market stalls, it's here they are likely to turn up.

SPC. What i haven't said to you in my posts, is that i critisize my own government as well. Our's is far from perfect & i'm sure Mr Bush comes under a fair bit of critisism from his country men as well. If you attack, we defend, the same as you want to defend your country. However, these cats & dogs we are discussing are not capable of writing their feelings on a forum. They are dumb animals who don't understand the fear & pain they are subjected to. They don't have guns to fight with. This thread is about the world protecting the rights of those defenceless animals. They were not put on this earth to earn anyone a quick dollar. That's why we are all upset.

If anyone on earth has such little regard for any life form, it is easy to transfer this to humans. The world has to start with the defenceless. If we can teach future generations that all life however small, is precious, then i believe our world will not be reduced to ashes by man. Hopefully, our future generation can learn that killing anything is not the way forward. If we have this discipline from young, there would be better human rights in future governments.

I too eat meat, so therefore i am a hypocrite. It is not the eating of an animal that is abhorant, it is the way they die. Here we have tough laws for slaughter houses & abatoirs. They die in a humane way. Why don't you lead from the front & lobby your government about this issue as a fellow Chinaman?? If your government see that Chinese people are equally as horrified as the West, there may bring about change.

I agree with Mike, i was horrified to see the scale of the poaching of ivory still going on today as well as gorilla poaching. It is not just China. At least they get a bullet in the head before being ripped to piece's. I do believe the skinning of live cats & dogs. We had a documentry here where Sir Paul McCartney & his ex Heather went out & filmed it. It was mostly Alsation pups. I could not bring myself to watch it but it is well documented in this country with under cover filming footage to prove it.
