9-40am saturday.

morning everyone.

weathers no better this morning im afraid.

ive got two double shifts at work this weekend, not looking forward to it, its my 6th weekend with no day off:(

now really begining to feel it.

kaz must be well on her way now and i think chezzie is coming home today. now doubt carol is working and gill still has another week away so posts on here will be a bit thin on the ground for a while.

time for tea and toast !!

been watching something on our news about a big fire that destroyed a millionairs mansion last tuesday. the family, of three, were presumed missing, until last night when two bodies have since been found. no one is sure what happened yet,

horses and dogs where found, shot dead in out buildings which were then set on fire.

the whole place has been totally destroyed.

they do believe the husband was in severe financial trouble.

its all very sad.

do hope our gill has got waterproofs in her beach hut, just seen the weather forecast for where she is and they are concerned about the severity of the thunder storms predicted for that area..

I only had a couple of days in Melbourne, mrsK. But this time I did manage to get to see the city. Wandered about, checked out the wonderful arcades and student nooks and crannies, rode trams, walked by the river and managed to get to the Art Deco exhibition at the Gallery(1920's, 1930's). That, by the way, was totally awesome. Cartier jewellery*, the foyer of the old Strand hotel, cars, films (Hollywood glam), jazz, a Lloyd Wright prairie design window (my favourite), Chanel dresses for the flapper figure! Furniture, china, streamlined architecture pics. Frinstance - didja know that as well as stuff like the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building in New York city, the Sydney harbour bridge and Luna park in Sydney are also art deco? As well as myriads of buildings in other Aussie cities, and the whole of Napier, NZ. Unforgettable.
