Well done Bryn, super photos. You seem to have set a standard there ! Pity you didn't have one with YOU holding the T shirt ! So you'll just have to send a photo to Kev for the FG video, if it isn't too late !

My friend the t-shirt has left to resume his travels.
Sad as I am to see him go, he is a free roaming spirit and it would be cruel to hold him back.
Farewell my friend, it was good to have known you for a while.

I have never understood the travelling t-shirt. I've read the whole thread and I may have missed what it's about but could someone explain for me and any new members. Is it always the same shirt travelling? Will it travel forever? Thanks.

It should have been the same t-shirt but the original was lost. Kathy Ellen kindly obtained a replacement.
The Travelling T-Shirt's World Tour is a way of linking members. As it travels from member to member it leaves a photographic record of the places it's visited and (sometimes) the members who've hosted it.
The photo's give the rest of us an idea of where the host lives and the sights to be seen.
Fairly harmless but I, for one, enjoyed taking it round London and looking for photo opportunities.

Very well explained!! And coming from someone that has had the shirt, Bryn is absolutely correct in the linking members. I was fortunate enough to meet a member just to take pics with the shirt, and it was really cool! I also enjoyed looking for photo oportunities in my area....amazing how you sometimes take your surroundings for granted!
Buttercup had a great idea, I hope the T-shirt keeps on traveling....

Hi Neffy,
Bryn sent it to you. If no one wants the shirt, why don't you send it back to Buttercup.

Just hope this new shirt is not lost like the last one.

I've been waiting for it to arrive from neffy, it's not here yet. If neffy's posted it then it's in a post office somewhere and getting returned to sender, which takes a few weeks. I've been looking forward to introducing it to Bristol's less salubrious pubs and corners and posting the pics to a horrified threadful of Travelling Shirt fans. I'm sure we'll get it sorted.
I only just saw the thread bump or I'd have spoken earlier.

The original shirt is not lost. Pinky has it & has p.m'd me twice to say she will post it on but has never actually got round to doing it.
You know there was a teddy bear that travelled around the world twice on another forum, not once was there a hitch, c'mon FG members pull it together. If you dont seriously want to do this please dont ask for the shirt, its not fair on the rest of us who really enjoy the thread.

I agree Buttercup......What's the big deal with putting the shirt back into the post...So many of us want to see the adventures of the shirt.
I would have loved to keep "Yankee Boy" longer and bring him for a night on the town in New York, but I wanted to pass it on to Bryn. I also realized that one day he would come back to Noo Joisey, and I would treat him to a fun night on the town then.

Bristol does have a t-shirt company with an outlet on the Cheltenham Road.
If those interested would care to examine http://www.beast-clothing.com/tshirts.php - particularly "ow Bist, me Babber" or "Ark at Ee" - and decide, however reluctantly, that a Bristolian flavour might be added to ForumGarden's Shirt Adventure, I'd be more than happy to pick up our most popular choice, give it a good time around town and forward it in short order.
Given the FG ladies who might end up modelling it around their home turf, my own preference would be for "Ginormous, innum", but I'm certainly not going to put it on myself if it says that. Though I note they do sell underwear with a similar refrain.

My vote would be for "alright my luvver?" for sentimental reasons or "theyz me daps mind" for the same reasons as yours.

I read this thread yesterday and took the liberty of leaving a message on MSN for neffy. Bless her she contacted me back, saying she had not been well and other probs. She also did not know Spot's address to send the T shirt on to. (she said she had photos). I have notified Spot and have left him neffy's email addy so he can make contact with her. I hope things will be OK. :-6
