HIV Malaria-The most devastating diseases affecting Africa today!

Post by Derryck »

August 03-2005:

HIV & Malaria-The most devastating diseases affecting Africa today!

Foreword:

With the advent of the European Guns, Germs & Steel implements, came the devastation of several nations and tribes on the African continent. Thousands of Europeans died from malaria in the early colonization of Africa. But today, the anti- bodies that Africans had developed genetically over the centuries, are at risk for the ever replicating malaria disease. And these new strains are becoming more & more resistant to modern medicines.

ZAMBIA:

Zambia hitherto had been a great nation & culture within the continent of Africa. When the Europeans came, conquered and enslaved thousands of her men and women, because they were perceived as best suited for agricultural labor in that tropical climate, and was the fitting substitute for the dying European settlers. With the exportation of millions of Blacks to the new world, the military occupation and control of most of Africa, the Europeans consolidated their power, wealth, & exploits at the demise of Africa.

AFRICA'S INDEPENDENCE:

With the aggression Adolf Hitler's Third Reich, the defeat of the British Empire's holdings around the world, and the inability to hold on to her territories no longer. Britain hastily complied with Independence agitation in most of her African colonies. Thus leaving these former colonies poor, economically devastated, unable to compete in trade internationally, with little or no defense of her borders, and almost totally dependent upon Britain for trade, investment loans, trade quotas and guarantees.

INTERNAL TURMOIL:

The internal turmoil that is evident in some African states within tribal groups, or between tribal groups was encouraged from the inception of European invasion. They used one tribe against the other, in order to have their way, or to control those that were not complying with their wishes. This divide and rule tactic was used as policy in most colonies that were administered by the British. So when Africa finally became politically independent, the social conditioning, the mentality, and the infringement of British education, was firmly entrenched.

Some Solutions:

Today pan-Africa is still grappling with this dilemma, economically, socially, culturally, morally, and even spiritually. As a pre-dominant agrarian culture, African states will have to re-think their internal development strategies. Industrialization might be the only way out of national poverty for several African States that are dependent on that aspect of cultivation and trade.

Technological development also must be contemplated, to develop her natural resources. Even if Africa has to rent or hire foreign nationals and experts to advise, manage, and administer some of these initiatives on a contractual basis, until her own people can be trained to take over, must also be considered.

Failing to make such concessions, adjustments, or considerations might delay the much needed economic growth that is so desperately needed for national survival.

Om Shanti.

Warsai wrote: Malaria is a disease that is curable and has been wiped out in the West, but not in Africa, because of the lack of basic medical services, and the lack of many sanitation and nutrition services ensure that diseases like this will exist for a long time to come, unless something is done. We can't rely on drug companies if their main concern is making a profit. The vaccines and antiretrovirals for HIV we can afford in America and Europe make the amount of vaccines in Africa look nonexistent. We can't allow this to happen. How long has the human race existed? It's just makes me sick that we can allow standards of living to be the same as they were thousands of years ago, that we can allow people to live without basic food and water. 3 billion people in the world are living in poverty...

Let's fix this...

WOW we have not seen you for awhile welcome back.

As well very much so the lack of educating these people.
