Hello! And related pleasantries.

Post by Hawke »

Greetings all,

I've just come across this site, and it seems like a great community of people. So great, in fact, that I've decided to join!

Let me introduce myself.

I'm a Master's candidate in Archaeology at a Midwestern University. In addition, I have a strong background in computer software and hardware, especially Macintosh. You may think that those two may not go together well, and you would be correct :)

I'm working on various ways of combining the two...

Hmm...what else?

Let's see...I'm a big movie person. BIG movie person. Give me a well-executed storyline and a great plot and I'm a happy man. My favorite movie is Lawrence of Arabia, but hey, any movie that's particularly well done can supplant that on my list.

As for music, I know what I like and I know what I hate. Same with books.

I'm not sure which forum I'll wind up haunting, so I'll be seeing you folks around.

Ok, enough. You're bored, I'm bored, and it's time to go do something constructive (like a massive research paper due in...lessee...3 days! Eep!)

So long.

[Grr...this is not where I had intended to post this...would a moderator kindly move this to the Introductions forum? Thanks!]

Welcome, Fyrehawke! I hope you enjoy your visits here. I'm fairly new here myself but the Garden seems to be a very interesting and insightful place.

Btw, I love your signature... Douglas Adams was one of my favorite authors.

Hi all, came across this forum by accident & have found it quite informative & pretty amusing, not too sure where-about you all come from, i guess its the USA or Canada.

I'm from England & the forum that i normally use is closed at the moment so its nice to know there are others out in cyberspace that are maybe just a little more interesting than the one i use!

Look forward to reading all your news & views, & adding some of my own x :-6
